Jimmy at times played snooker that defied physics. Unbelievable cue power and break building. Sadly never won the big one at sheffield but had the masters and several other titles along the way. He still has a huge following and I will always be a big fan of his.

@@RFED2O he won 10 ranking event titles in his career. Which was a lot in those days, much fewer tournaments. And lost 14 finals. Won nearly as many as he lost. "no fucking bottle?" OK mate... Won the UK and the masters, just never quite got over the line at the world's. No shame in that, hendry was a machine. Won a shit load of non-ranking events too, and made 5mill. Definitely a legend of the game, for those who arent fair weather fans that only watch the WC.
@LKeet63 жыл бұрын
@@RFED2O many of those non ranking events were bigger and more prestigious and watched by more people, with more prize money than the smaller ranking events now. Jimmy is still 10th all-time in ranking event wins despite playing in FAR fewer! Same with his prize money. He was a great player.

@@RFED2O he's won everything in the game apart from the world champs(admittedly the most important one he couldn't win)and is in the top ten ranking event winners list.Although I agree he isn't the greatest player I would put him only second behind Ronnie O'Sullivan on raw natural ability and like I said he is in the top ten ranking event winners list so he's in the top ten players by right you could say.When you look at his record and also the amount of finals he's got to (admittedly lost as well) he has to be one of the greatest players on record without argument.

When he came out, you'd have thought the roof was going to lift off, the cheers were that loud. He also trod on my foot but I didn't care. By the end of the night, he was absolutely pissed from the amount of drinks people had bought him lol. Fantastic night

Great entertainer, however never had the mental edge to compete at the very highest level. Always poor Jimmy let's see what you could have won. Dennis Taylor for example never had his natural potting ability, but he was a winner.
@steviegbcool6 жыл бұрын
what are you talking about ? he competed in and won far more titles than Taylor ever did. Just not the world champs probably because there was so much pressure and expectation from anyone and the fact that his nemesis was the greatest player of all time. no other player in history has had the attention that he has.
@smokebreaktime6 жыл бұрын
There is only one title that matters. He had a long career and plenty opportunities. Like i say Dennis Taylor won it, how did he manage that when the best player ever was around ? Answer... he had the bottle.
@davidfelix25946 жыл бұрын
don't talk shit mate ffs jimmy won 31 titles compared to taylors 19 he's made 317 century breaks compared to taylors 79 the only title jimmy never lifted was the world...and he did all that while being coked up and pissed off his face, imagine how better he would have been had he adopted that boring cunt davis's approach by drinking milk...sure davis won more but no cunt wanted to watch him play...everyone wanted to watch jimmy play.
@Oldlard6 жыл бұрын
The only reason Jimmy never won a world title was that he made the mistake of playing his best snooker at the same time as Stephen Hendry. If there was no Hendry then Jimmy wins multiple titles. Hendry was just too good though (for anyone).
