Fast lapping in iRacing is only about 40% of success. Racecraft is more important, ecpecially in longer races from B or A class. 10-12 min races ppl send it for 100% all the time, on 45 min IMSA you would have no tyres after hald of a race.

@BaioWithMayo3 жыл бұрын
That first race really only happens to that extent in rookies, you still see it in bottom split higher races but nothing to that extent, and the racing gets really good. Consequences are just real as hitting someone will usually fuck you both, as is real racing most of the time, which can make it less fun as a pure racing game
@justinbayse44173 жыл бұрын
@@crawlmanjrable Not exactly . . . The lobby assigning process is solely based on iRating. If you grind safety rating for a couple days you might go into a race with a high safety rating and be able to focus more on racing than not getting off tracks but it does not mean you will automatically be assigned to a “clean” lobby. Generally you start to find clean racing in lobbies with SOF’s of at least 1400. Safety rating is important but maybe focus a little more on iRating if you’re chasing cleaner racing. Hope this helps, happy holidays.

@@justinbayse4417 Another tip is to join underparticipated classes in MultiClass Racing, like the Optima in the Fanatec GC or the Audi in the Pilot Challenge. Since there is SO LITTLE participation there, the cars in the other classes will be the ones in the higher splits, so cleaner drivers.

Took up iRacing again after 9 months of hibernation. From scratch 1 year ago I got quite rapidly to Class B/SR2.52/iRating1368. But then re-joined a couple of days ago, just starting in a Rookie Race. A few races here with novice drivers crashing into me constantly, it relegated me to classC/SR2.14/iRating948! Wow. I would say it's very odd to get punished from other driver's divebomb crashes, iRacing is weird here! When I restarted my iRacing career last year (after ~10 years of iHibernation), I think the highly critizised tyre modelling wasn't that bad (my first thoughts a year ago). But now coming back from ACC, rF2. AMS2, R3E, PC2, GTR2, rF2, GPL, I'll use the word "iceracing" too. This has nothing to do with actual car behaviour (tried a couple of the cars IRL, in fact GTR2 still do the most 'real car sim' IMO, yes I'm not mad). Edit: But IMO iRacing is still great, great simracing with one of the best online competitive setup and in general a scoring system which IMO keeps up with state-of-the-art ACC - exept for the very awqvard punisment for other drivers crashing into you. This part could be improved. Aaand the payment as well. WAY too expensive when not driving frequently.
