okay. What DID you actually do? you managed, through your Sim Races and your humble personality, was to unite people from all over the world, your fans and supporters, in one unified support team who lived every moment of your IRL experience with you! You gave us all a FACE we knew, not some anonymous racing driver, but a friend who'd made his dream come true! We all backed you, supported you, lived the dream WITH you and rejoiced when you did well...because it seemed you did it all for US as well as for yourself! Think about that Jimmy. People from ALL OVER THE WORLD, people who watched you Sim Race and then do it in REAL LIFE and stay approachable and humble about something we'd ALL like to be able to do! Every single one of us out here would almost kill to get the chance you got and we DID live it through you! In the process you Sim Raced with real guys from Formula 1 and found that they, despite their godlike reputations, were just real people who had fun with playing games and welcomed you and helped you get better! You gave us a real face, a real "friend" in a REAL RACE CAR and you shared your emotions with us. You made us love you and you brought us into a world we'd never have been able to enter without you. And...you made your Grandfather proud, you know you did. He was undoubtedly smiling down on you with every lap you drove and was right there with you when you and Gordie collected P1 trophies. Well done lad. Well done indeed, from this 74 year old Grandma from the U.S.

Hey Jim, just wanted to point out that Jem already spilled the beans and mentioned you were teaming up with geordie next year and that was the reason for the team switch. She mentioned it in the video on the praga KZbin channel of the last race. Also wanted to say its been a blast following your adventures. I know its been a difficult but rewarding year in terms of the first year of racing, but as a fan, I'd love to see more videos on the IRL racing. It was a bit limited this year to all the races and practice sessions you did. Any chance we can get more in between stuff as well? Maybe more q&a stuff, perhaps interview team mates or engineers or other drivers or behind the scenes or something. Anything that's just more IRL racey content

A phrase that has helped me when I doubt myself: Don't ever worry that there is someone better at a thing than you, because no matter how good some is, there is always someone better. And in racing even more so, because no-one can actually agree who the GOAT racing driver actually is, so why worry about it, because it's all subjective in the end and in racing, you can be the literal best in the field and still not win. Put simply, you've raced a racing car, in a sanctioned race series and you and your team mate have won races with the trophy to prove it. No ifs, ands, or buts, that's the facts, simple as, end of. And given where you started out from having had to move into the shed at that massive low point, to stabilise your life, and then push on up to the point you're living one of your literal dreams is an achievement beyond measure. I've said it comments before, but you Jimmy are one of my examples of how no matter how far or low we fall, we CAN come back from it, we CAN get better and the metaphorical morning WILL come. It's a hard journey, but you are proof it can be done and screw anything else, I will cheer that all day long. Some of the hair cuts are kind of dumb though, you need to work on that ;)

The reason this sort of thing is so resonant with sim racers is because we all love stories of people entering that universe coming from this universe because all of us have a granule of that hope in our heads. Vanishingly few will do it, so it's a great job that sim racing is now a monster in it's own right. Nowadays we have a lot of reason to be hopeful but little reason to be sad, racing other folks online is easy and risk free - the vast majority of racing drivers have sacrificed a lot in other areas of life to get in their seats and stay there and a lot of them come out the other end with nothing to show for it whilst everyone else was settling down, building careers, it's easy to envy people that are in the industry but nothing comes for free. Great work!

I got emotional at the part where you said your mind went back to the first time you streamed on KZbin and how your life was back then. I don't really comment or say much in the streams, but I've been following you since you less than 10k subscribers I think. I still remember vividly that GT3 stream where someone donated like 100 quid and it dawned on you that, this may actually be something you could do for a living. I've had a lot of my own struggles, many similar to yours and like you, I've wanted to be a racing driver since I was a child. That dream probably isn't going to come through for me, but I'm glad it did for you Jimmy. He is such a genuine guy and I'm so happy for him! Even if you aren't into (sim)racing you have to give this man so much credits to be so motivational and being humble. Talking about his mental issues and giving awareness to his audience. I respect you so much Jimmy. Great job on and of the track!

Jimmy you beautiful human! Im still shaking with excitement for you, not just the season finale win, but to actually live out a childhood dream. You're a truly wonderful person, an inspiration to many if not all of us, and just a joy to watch. Cant wait to see what you have planned for next year!

Get used to that podium, Jimmer. But also keep your head on straight. Your most admirable quality is your humility and your grace, and I reckon it's what keeps you honing your craft so g-d quickly. Pumped for you my man. Can't wait for next season!!

When my nan passed away in October 2020 I was lost. As lost as you could imagine. I had to find a way through it. I found myself putting my mind towards sim racing and got myself a G29 at the time. I found this channel and watched your videos on IRacing, Assetto Corsa, and even the Drivetube videos of the shed tour. Since then i've been able to pull through the major depression I had of losing my nan. I pulled myself out of pretty much wanting it all to end. Even got to the point where I was so ready to call it quits. And then your video on Mental Health crept through the KZbin algorithm. and it touched me so much. Seeing that you was able to get out of the depression stage and making something pushed me forward. I got a Fanatec setup. A whole new rig. I even got Married in June! So thank you Jimmy. And congratulations on all the achievements you have made. You really, truly are an inspiration.

I'm incredibly happy for you! I hope so much that you succeed. I don't follow you so actively since i do not play many simracing games myself. But i always felt like you're a great and genuine guy. You inspire me to keep working on my dream, even if it has nothing to do with racing! :) You're great man.

I remember coming across a video of yours for the first time (PC2 old Spa) and seeing you just pour your heart and soul into it all. Getting to see that passion extend to where you are today - and where you are going - has been your gift to us all.

100% one my favourite drivers out there. Just a shame you never got the same chances as some of the best drivers in the world but thats what makes you so good is the fact you weren't handed it. You worked hard to get the drive in that car and can't wait to see more of goldie

I don't follow you much these days since my sim rig has been collecting dust, but man Jimmy I'm proud of you. I always thought your ability to commentate while driving (very well) was second to none and I knew you would go far with it, but who could have imagined this? They will make a movie about you one day Jimmer!

Hey Jimmy, I just wanted to shoot you this comment to let you know that you inspired me te try real life driving after years of simming. Proud to say that I am a rally driver right now in historic cars, and all thanks to you being inspiring. Good luck in your future, you earned everything that has come to you this year. You are the best that the SIM racing community has right now, all the power to you!

Nice little hint dropped near the end of the video. You crushed this season, while learning about the ups & downs of racing, especially the aspects you can’t control. I’m excited for racerman Jimmy, season two!

Been so stoked watching you through your irl racing year, something anyone watching you before it happened would have hoped you could get the chance, and it's just amazing to see you did and how amazing it went! What a rollercoaster XD Can't be more happy for you Jimmy! You deserved all of it! :)

We're so happy to see you achive mate, because of the hurdles we've watched you overcome. Your honesty normalises the dark times and your successes inspire hope. It may be hard to grasp, but you simply being you has helped, entertained and inspired countless people. From the humblest beginnings of shedlife to seeing the outpouring of relief and joy when you won, thanks for showing your authentic self through your journey. Huge props to those who supported and still support you. They should, (and no doubt do), feel proud of you. We all do!

"Silence at the race track is one of the worst things you can hear." is so true. I remember the first time I was racing and they had to life flight someone. The emotions o f "yeah im frustrated having to throw the warmers back on and put a splash of fuel in the bike" to "Hope those guys walked away" to seeing the crash track come back with just bikes and no riders, to silence, and then hearing the helicopter approaching.

Can't wait to see what's next whatever it is, just remember we're here to watch all of it, you're an inspiration and haven't changed a bit in our eyes, so pog to you and all the best with what's next.

You went wheel to wheel with others on the track. Regardless of if it’s in a Miata or an F1 car anyone getting out there with respect for others on track and with the passion to push themselves to the limits is a real racing driver. Fantastic job and can’t wait to watch you progress in the years to come.
