Rest in peace Jimmy. I named my daughter Delaney in 1998. Had Rose picked out but listened to my Fruitcakes on tour 94 when I was about 8 months pregnant and forgot how much I loved this song. Her name became Delaney Rose. I cried today learning you died. I’m 56 and you and your music have been such a part of me and my husband’s 36 year relationship. We will miss you. Thank you for all the great songs and memories you’ve blessed us with.

My dad and I will be dancing to this song at my wedding in the Bahamas in February. Hopetown. We saw Jimmy Buffett, my first concert. Delaney- my heart is with you. This is the only song in the world that has my name. My dad and I danced to it many times in key west when I was little. My best memories.

Heartfelt thanks for the inclusion of this song on the new album and rotation on the current tour. Back 26-27 plus years ago the Fruitcakes album was out while we were expecting our first (Had twins) and I quickly gravitated to this song and long story short named our first born Delaney. The song has created a special bond with my daughter and not a birthday goes by that I don't share it with her. When I heard it live during this year's concert I couldn't pick up the phone fast enough to have that moment with her. Thank you again for a wonderful song.

Now that my dear JB has passed away I am grateful that Delaney and JB made this series of videos. I am going to miss him probably more than any other musical artist of my life, he allowed me to escape my sometimes sad childhood in the 80's/90's and gave me a life full of wonderful memories. I still feel blessed to have met him in Key West in 2005, he was incredibly gracious and kind! I will miss you JB!

Always wish I had heard this song live! Love it my baby girl who will be 23 on the 15th of September was named after you! We spelled it different Delani. But when I told my husband I wanted to name a girl Delaney he said like JB daughter. So my baby girl is Jordan Delani. Your father will be missed he was a great storyteller. We lived near Sag Harbor in the 90’s. Watching JB land his seaplane was always pretty cool 😎💛😎 We would hang over in the bay near him….we always called it Jimmy Buffett Cove. And it was my One Particular Harbor! Delaney’s song always touched my heart. Jane and Jimmy were a cherished couple in our community. They did a benefit concert in 1994, I think. When I think about the countless lives Jimmy, his family and especially Delaney have touched with their talents, their love, and positive energy, it blows my mind! We had a boat when our kids were little and kept it in the water near Lake Michigan. My daughter and I would always sing this song together as we went to get breakfast for Mom...
