Visually striking, but what I love most about this piece is the lack of material. Just enough to make it work- a true exercise in restraint ❤

The wood is stunning and truly steals the show, but the proportions of the bench and the angles are so visually pleasing. Everything comes together beautifully!

Wow! Such a fabulous piece. The contrast between the heart & sap wood is majestic & the steel has strength permanence & purpose to this to this giants bench as though made for the spirits of the Forrest by a magical Smth. Thank you for sharing!

I love how you left the bark on. So many videos I see people removing the bark, then sanding the edges into their own "live edge". The sap wood into the heart wood looks incredible! Good job!

As a walnut log dries the bark will crumble and fall off.

As any log dries the bark will flake off. It's why removing the bark is an important step.

My grandpa sawed a bunch of walnut grade lumber in his sawmill when I was working for him in middle school. That stuff stained my hand and my jeans black every summer. In high school he switched over to cutting barrel staves. The white oak would stain my hands but it never stained my jeans. I remember those first couple weeks of school in the fall my hands were so black you would have thought I hadn’t washed them all summer.

I have a timberking sawmill and the thickness measuring system was fairly basic. I grabbed a cheap DRO (digital read out) from Amajon for about 80 bucks. It has a 36" linear slide and reads out in fractional inches, decimal or metric. Bolted that baby to to the carriage, put the slider on the frame and now I can see the thickness of my cuts right off the scale. Very handy. Keep up the great videos. I sure don't miss those upstate winters... Greetings from Alabama from a former Catskillian.

Awesome from raw form to finished. I like the induction forge rivet process. The edit was good see your finding some transitions you like. Looks like you got the Ken burns down too. Nice close with the diagonal wipe too I like that. Solid work solid piece. I may just get some total boat gleam to brush my sign. Every-time I see it it looks good. I should probably get gloss for build and satin for the final coat.
