Lol it's even worse on colbert!!!! like literally EVERY single freaking sentence always has to end in applause, you can tell even stephen gets annoyed of it because theres been a lot of times where he has to address to everyone to hold their applause as he's telling a story because he doesn't want it to distract and take away from all of the moments that applause always does (usually calls for a ten second pause/break from a speech, gets very annoying and irritating fast lol) and damn, every single celebrity that starts telling any story, always gets sidetracked and either forgets a lot of their story, or changes it because of how they always try to applause after every damn sentence lol it's so annoying that we can enjoy anything straight through without applause cutting time short every single night.. i bet if you add up all the applause breaks that happen, you'd probably get a good 3-4 extra minutes of content forreal lol literally every other country in the world, especially in the UK, the audience ALWAYS waits until the END of the performance/show to applause AS IT SHOULD BE!! and as that's how it's ALWAYS been done over history, but now these audiences on our favorite talk shows are the ones ruining celebrity appearances and good/funny monolouges and stories because of how they just have to cut into every other sentence, they should realize that applauding so much doesn't make the guests feel all that much better, it'd be much better if they respected their time and allowed them to actually talk and entertain lol

Yanks LOVE to clap. They clap for everything. As an Aussie, I find it odd when Americans clap for themselves. When they walk out on a talk show, the audience is clapping because they are excited to welcome the guest. So when the guest joins in it’s like they are cheering “yay ME! Same story for me until back in October when I finally decided to watch all of the star wars films and boy I'm glad I did. I don't know why people were so disappointed with Rise of Skywalker lol I thought it was a great film but it's probably because I only saw the teaser trailer. I feel like those other trailers probably gave too many details away that's why I avoided watching them in the first place.
