So me being a huge Karate Kid/ Coldplay fan I knew of this song as soon as it came out. Being a big Mets/ Islanders fan I knew Daniel Macchio (Ralph’s son) through friends of friends who are also fans of my teams. I reached out to my friend Danielle who knows Daniel and I told her to tell him about the song. A day later she sends me back a text of Daniel Macchio saying how he thought the song was amazing and how it came as a huge surprise and he was going to show his dad. A day later Ralph posts about the song and then gets into contact with Coldplay to make a music video in Australia. I wasn’t sure if I started the chain of events but this video confirmed it thanks Jimmy!

MY JAW DROPPED after googling his age after he said he's got some years on Tyson! Had no idea he was on Broadway or could sing! He was my childhood crush because of Karate Kid, but always thought of him as a child star. He was quite old when he played Daniel-san! Still a fan!

This guy does NOT look like he's in his 60s - even his voice sounds young! I was a die-hard Karate Kid fan back in the 80s, so when Cobra Kai came out, I was nervous that the showrunners would ruin a good thing. Not so - they knocked it out of the park! It's probably one of very few shows that perfectly balances nostalgia with new material.

You know I was a young kid when karate kid was big and I was into it. You know I liked it because of both the story and the karate so, I kept thinking about it. I included it in a way with my nostalgia like Nintendo and it was easy in my mind because there was that Japanese connection to that film and over time I just saw more and more people who were as interested as me and then there was that no more kings music video and it just seemed like it was so close then to sparking back and then you know the people who did cobra Kai could tell you more about what really really lit the flame

"Sweep the leg" isn't really related to Ralph Macchio's character though. Kreese says it to Johnny.. so William Zabka should have people shouting sweep the leg to him. Ralph should have calls for like "Do the crane" or "Wax on wax off!"
