So true! He has an ability to make a movie emotive and so enjoyable at the same time, from start to finish. Life is a mixed bag, it can be funny, sad, horrific, loving, clever, silly and so much more and he packs in that depth and puts it on screen, without it being contrived or too artsy. A rare talent.

I remember the first time I watched American Flyers, Silverado and Fandango,... Then came The Untouchables, No Way Out, Field of Dreams, ... ans Dances With Wolves .... My last one was The Highwaymen .... Mr Costner deserved the standing ovation at Cannes !!! Smart and humble ...

I recently re-watched The Upside of Anger. His performance is flawless. It was such a good movie. He is a great actor but there is an every man quality to him.

I remember the curtain too. In my theater, the curtain would close first, then it would open slowly. It just before it reopened the projection starts ON the curtains.

Long time ago I had the chance to „meet“ him personally while he and Dennis Hopper where presenting „Waterworld“ on RTL booth during Berliner Funkausstellung - when he ( and Dennis) entered the room it was kind of magic, his Charisma is awesome 😎 he was so polite and nice to the journalists and the TV guys answering every question….
