I feel like Jimmy is such a kid-magnet. I've seen all of his vids filmed in the Philippines and almost all of them (I think only one doesn't) have his interactions with kids. Even in Indonesia, he also had videos with cute kids on them. And I'm liking all that because all those interactions doesn't feel forced, it just literally looks like an uncle who happened to be sorrounded by kids while filming and his normal self buying things for them. You're a good guy, Jimmy. Don't worry about the 'socmed-influencers-only-giving-and-filming-for-clout' thing because yours doesn't feel anything like that at all. Thanks for giving the kids food and clothes. It's unfortunately a normal sight in the PH but your good heart didn't ignore such sight and instead showed kindness. Hope you get more love than what you're giving.

As a 2nd gen Filipino American, your commentary on the beauty standards of the Philippines really resonated with me. My family that immigrated from the Philippines has always measured me and my cousins beauty through how white we are. So in the summer, they’d tell us not to get too dark because it makes us ugly and even get us whitening soaps, but in the winter they’d compliment us when we look pale. I hope the younger generations can grow up appreciating their own skin tones more. Thanks for pointing this out :)

9:58 colorism and colonial mentality that are still very prevalent in the Philippines up to this day summed up in such informed observation! Thousands of vloggers have come and gone to the Philippines just to rake in views from Filipinos, but no one has come close to Uncle Jimmy's realness and self-awareness, esp on socioeconopolitical subject! Sadly, all that you've mentioned, including homeless kids and poverty issues all around the country are somewhat interconnected to these decades long and still ongoing social issues. For Sbarro, I think it's an American chain. I remember being a kid and my mom always taking us there to eat on SUndays. They have that white sauce pasta thing and you can have it drowned in white creamy cheese sauce! They also have parmesan on the condiments side. Oh and you can ask them to reheat your slice if you want it blazing hot! Also, sad you didn't get to douse your Mang Insasal white rice with the orange chicken oil! And you didn't try their pork sisig! We also have a few Kyochon stores here! There's one in Manila near my university. Also, food tends to be saltier here because we eat everything with rice :D

10:22 I think Filipinos still have a colonial mentality about skin color or body features, especially facial features. Back in the Spanish period, the Philippines had this caste system where those who were in the high class were not pure Filipinos and had whiter skin. While people who belong to the lower class (Indios) are pure-blooded Filipinos and have the original Filipino skin color. So this led to discrimination, where lighter skin was seen as more beautiful or superior. And yeah, I agree that Filipinos should more appreciate their own beauty.
