Appreciate the honesty. By Philippine standards, those prices are excessive given the quality of the food.
@Pikachu-ho8rp8 ай бұрын
For the price range of these buffets, the reason their price is so high so as compared to the quality is because they mostly focus more on quantity rather than quality. mas mabilis maenganyo ang pinoy sa dami kesa sa quality, realtalk.

Hi Jimmy, the Purple dessert soup is called "Binignit". The famous Cebuano dish is traditionally made with glutinous rice cooked in coconut milk with various slices of sabá bananas, taro, ube, jack fruit, and sweet potato, among other ingredients. Also, the dish is traditionally served during Good Friday of Holy Week. Some places in the Philippines have their own version of this dish as well.

But I think he missed to scoop some glutinous rice balls. All he’s eating are the sago pearls. It’s a shame coz the texture of the glutinous rice balls might be familiar to him as a Korean. It’s like a dessert type & soft tteokbokki.
@ryanyu1028 ай бұрын
@@ynnos5555 true but personally, glutinous rice balls and tteokbokki aren't really my cup of tea. While I like the tteokbokki sauce, not a big fan of the texture. So I would probs also gotten what he has gotten as well.

8:03 that purple dessert is called binignit in cebuano, in tagalog we call it ginatan or bilobilo. The puple color came from purple yam or ube, it has glutinous rice balls, banana saba, sweet potato, jackfruit, tapioca pearls, taro and cassava cooked in a sweetened coconut milk. There is a white version of it without the purple yam. It’s my favorite filipino dessert. This dessert is always available in Hyehwa-dong Seoul at the Philippine Sunday Market so whenever I crave for Filipino foods I just go there on Sunday.

Not from the Philipines, but that soup is most likely Purple Yam/Sweet Potato/Ube. It's also served in Vietnam and China, but each have their own things added to it. In China, it's treated similar to Mung Bean/Red Bean soup. The Philipines is the only place I know that also has it as a jam.

I haven't tried the other branches of Vikings but from videos I've seen, they seem be way better than the branch here. Hello Jimmy, my in laws for Thanksgiving serve turkey and ham and I go for the ham everytime. They even make ham gravy in addition to turkey gravy where the ham gravy is a bit saltier and I think it tastes better too. I wish we had those kind of buffets in America because then they would be worth it. Most buffets if I can even find one near me are 15-20 something dollars and they serve like 10 main entress and a couple of desserts-so not worth it.
