I loove the jinx storyline - and it kind of pops out of nowhere, so I forget which episode it's in when I rewatch. This one starts with the drugs and I'm like "ah this is a good one" then "JINX, buy me a coke" and I'm like "ah this is a GREAT one". Annyway. Pam's look when things get a little too serious at the end there is just killer.

There's a couple times the writers cheat a little bit to make Michael the fool when he's not actually being that terrible. I guess we're supposed to assume if he wasn't being so self-centered he would've picked up on the vibe around Kevin...but fuck man, nobody told him, what was he supposed to do! (I'm thinking of a certain issue about donations to charity in another episode where I was like, wtf guys, Michael is totally in the right here!)

I love the very pointed "he just wants everyone to be happy 👀" whenever Michael does something selfish. This has been my favorite show since around when the second season was airing, somewhere in late '05-early '06, and I have been having this exact argument with people the whole time. He's a pretty classic bigot-with-a-heart-of-gold character and is one of the most selfish characters I've seen in fiction, but people are always trying to excuse his behavior. I think maybe it's because Steve Carell himself is so charming, or because they like the character and have forgotten that it's perfectly reasonable for a crappy person to be a well-written, interesting character that people like so they need him to be ~pure~ so they can keep liking him. Y'all, you can like the character and also admit he's a dick!

I have read a ton of comments on this series on this channel, and have not seen a single person actually promoting that as his core character trait in this early part of the show. Seems like something Jimmy saw one time and has latched onto as his catchphrase to complain about Michael. Not totally blaming him, I know fans can get very "you have to love this character because after watching every season I love him", but kinda wish he'd just relax about whether to "like" Michael or not and let it just develop. Like, he has exactly the correct take on Michael in season 2. The same one most other people did during season 2. Don't let one dumb comment be a distraction.

Stop roasting)) Michael wants everybody (except Toby of course) to be happy - especially himself, and that's the problem, cause he is stupid baby, so his happiness makes everybody else unhappy. He's genuinely trying, but 90% of the time prefers himself. He doesn't understand why people are mad at him, but we all know, when he's mad at somebody, it takes one apology from them, and he will be in his office with cameras like: "Yeah we are best friends for life now! I think I even made them a better person". Only thing stopping him from being a good person is stupidity. So no one saying he is good at delivering happiness for others, but he believe he is)
