Michaels' entire "why are you the way that you are?" monologue is one of my all time favorite Office quotes.

i think pam is super relatable and don’t hate her at all for what she did to jim. it’s super easy to say she should’ve broken it off with roy and just went immediately to jim but i think we underestimate how easy it is to stay when we are comfortable in a relationship even if it’s not good for us and even if we know it’s not going anywhere! love ur reactions can’t wait for more 🤍

Plus, it’s clear she was in denial about her true feelings toward Jim. Anything she felt she could justify to herself as just loving him as a friend.

It's also pretty in line with how she approached the subject before - awkwardly. Even when she had a fight with Roy, got drunk and kissed Jim, she still couldn't bring herself to talk about it (the parking lot scene in 2x01 I think, the Dundee episode)

I didn’t hate it for it but that feels like a oh she’s a woman give her a pass no matter what. Meanwhile people hate on Jim over Dwight stuff while he physically fought Dwight in order to save his job and comforts him all the time and only pranks him due to how difficult he is at work. But clearly that’s her story arc she won’t do things she wants or that’s best for her wether it’s art or Jim or whatever. Jim kept trying to convince her to do those things wether it’s him or art or whatever. Jim is sort of the initiator of her arc really as he motivates a lot. That’s like her arc of becoming more confident and so on. And also he kind of shoots her down later also as she says later. It’s just a way or dragging out that story arc and increasing tension.

Issue being she could also lose the person who’s better staying in a clearly not working out relationship. It also ended up probably being better for Roy as he cleans up his act and becomes pretty successful after they split up. That’s sort of the issue with anything where you hesitate too much and lose better opportunities which is sort of her story arc really she doesn’t want to go to the art thing either and she overcomes fears to do the coal walk the whole point is she doesn’t do what’s better due to being too hesitant.

frankly its a shame Jimmy had to cut their poker scene, because that chemistry is off the charts. Pam grinning at him while he looks back at her with this happy "I am helpless against you" expression on his face. Perfect setup for the ending.

The first time I heard Dwight said "I don't believe you, continue", I lost it for about 2-3 minutes. I actually had to pause so I could get some air hahahaha

“Roy’s an oaf.” Believe it or not, David Denman, who plays Roy went to my high school and I was in choir and theater with him. He was unwillingly tagged with the nickname “Oaf.’

Toby is me at work, and I’m used to being resented for it. I work in a restaurant as an expeditor and everything that leaves the kitchen is my responsibility so I have to keep a level head and high standards, speak quickly and sternly to enforce quality and maintain the flow of the kitchen, so you can imagine in the wrong kind of place how that would be annoying as fuck, but idc, it’s my job and I’m good at it regardless of the pushback.

I feel like Michael wants to BE SEEN as making everyone happy. He wants to feel like everyone loves him. When they dont act happy with him, he gets angry & frustrated because he feels like they dont appreciate what he views as his efforts to make everyone happy & lashes out. & he obviously lacks the awareness to see the problem.

Some of the best episodes are great because they're hilarious and they're funny in a vacuum (ex. "The Injury"). "Casino Night" is funny and it has great plot/character developments too.

I haven't seen Normies on this one, just one other reacter and they were totally into it. I've definitely been curious how many modern first time watchers would think its way too presumptuous. Really its just the usual issue of if she's into it, its very romantic, and if not you totally have a sexual assault case on your hands...

Yaaay almost at season three aka the best season. The one where they finally found their footing. Same with Parks and Rec really
@jerodast
@jerodast Жыл бұрын
They had their footing well in hand in season 2. I love 3 and 4 but I think 2 might still edge it out for nonstop quality. 3 and 4 is where it starts to be less grounded in tone as they add new elements and make some leaps to keep the show going.
@CharlieBrown20XD6
@CharlieBrown20XD6 Жыл бұрын
@@jerodast 4 sure but 3? That Andy and Dwight rivalry leading to him being fired over Angela...that was good plotting. Plus they nailed every side character by then. The Benihana Christmas special was amazing. Too much good stuff. Season 4 though made a big mistake making every episode an hour long. Loved Holly introduction towards the end but hated splitting them up and Michael acting like a creep to get them back together

Yeah Jim has way too much time on his hands….also he’s a jerk/bully. As an Indiana Jones fan, love that homage to the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark where Toby just puts the complaint box in the warehouse to be lost and forgotten
@kylemtc2280
@kylemtc2280 Жыл бұрын
Calling him a jerk/bully for harmless office pranks is insanely soft. There’s so many actual bullies out there and here you are, making the word meaningless, using it to describe pranks like putting nickles in a handset or moving his desk an inch every hour

@@kylemtc2280what to you call years of targeted harrasment? People don't have to physically harm you to cause damage. Everyone deserves to be able to go to their job without someone bothering them all the time. Can I come to your job & endlessly bug you? You don't mind, right?

@@mhernandez1345I understand you don’t have to cause physical harm for it to be considered bullying, that’s obvious. The pranks he does are not mentally abusive or traumatizing. He does dumb silly pranks with him. That’s what friends do and you’ll see later on in the show how close they become because the writers show that dynamic of their friendship. Me and my friends joke around and prank each other ALL THE TIME for years. That’s not bullying, that’s something most friends do and we’re still close to this day.

I so look forward to your reactions! I’m currently rewatching the show and I’m on season 3. Both of these episodes are hilarious. My love for Dwight knows no bounds. The reason I despise Pam is that I feel like she led Jim on. She clearly cared about Jim and she was jealous when he dated other women. She seems to me to be the type of person that wants to have her cake and eat it too. Creed is the absolute best though! I hope we agree on that! Thanks for your hilarious reactions!

Jim and Pam are overrated. Pam has cheated multiple times on Roy AND Jim (Brian debacle was emotional cheating at best), Jim's basically a simp, and she's too weak-willed to communicate what she wants and instead manipulates to get her way.

She was ignorant of her true feelings toward him, not leading him on. She justified her feelings as love she felt toward a friend. Leading him on implies intent.
