The two of them didn't really get on, very different personalities. John was the hero and Eric the villain for much of the 80's as far as fans were concerned, due to Bristow's arrogance. Sadly for them, Eric was camping for free inside Lowe's head and, save for a few notable occasions like the 1987 Embassy final, the Crafty Cockney beat his rival most of the time.

Two legends but one thing which is very noticeable is Eric’s smooth throwing action. He was still good in the 90’s pushing Phil Taylor in close matches at times but he definitely lost some of that smoothness.
