Yakuza 3 Remaster - Jo Amon's Utter Destruction (No Damage?) No Weapons [4K/60 FPS]

Would you believe this fight took me about 4 hours to get? I made this look way easier then it is, I promise lol! The first phase is always like that, I look for either the walking sword strike combo, or his double overhanded slam. Those are the only two moves out of his sword moveset that you can work with (I think so anyway)... The 2nd phase is skipped almost entirely, and rightfully so since it's a lot of potential hit scan hell and his insane grenade launcher attacks! You'll see me purposefully position Amon near the wall when I'm about to put him into his second phase so I can tiger drop his back flip kick and then bounce combo him from the wall. It's so much fun to do that. For his 3rd phase, I will typically wait for him to do his claw combos and tiger drop the final attack in ONE of the combos, the other moves are fairly air tight. I wanted to do the 3rd phase "honest", meaning I would have started the tiger drop loop after punishing one of his claw based moves. But this works for me ha, Amon really got shitbaked here lol

Fight is at 9:41. The lore for Amon in Yakuza 3 is so out of control! This is probably my favorite thing in the Yakuza series, how Amon is tied to IF7 and Minamida! Amon lately has felt sort of Low Effort, especially Judgment. Write him into the story somehow, he's one of the only constants in the series, pay your respect to Amon RGG Studios!

Since you put the ? in the title. I'll answer for you. 9:54 First hit/damage. This boss is really hard without weapons with no damage + tiger drop in first phase and last phase. For example 9:58 the heat gauge decreases = 1 Hit/damage ( medium damage, the heat gauge decreases a little bit) 10:35 ( high damage, the heat gauge decreases a lot).

It's like the classic health bar, but when the enemies hits/damage you or when the tiger drop isn't perfect for some reason your heat gauge decreases instead of taking damage. For example: With full health or a little bit of health, your health bar decreases in this situation 9:54 and 9:58. Critical health is the same thing, but your heat gauge decreases instead of taking damage, it's called Azure Dragon Spirit.

@@Greatnessamongwyatt no damage mean NO DAMAGE, so no damage to the health and ALSO no damage to the heat bar. This is ALMOST a no damage fight. And when DanteDevil12 says something, don't contest him because he is the Sensei of Yakuza and if you don't believe him, check his videos :).

Thank you for showing all the dialogue before and after the fight as well. I was planning to fight Amon in Yakuza 3, but the substories involving minigames I am so damn useless at like golf and baseball were too much for me, so I gave up. Thankfully Yakuza 4 doesn't have substories like that. Anyway, thank you. I may not have been able to get to Amon in this game, but seeing it all another way is the next best thing.

This is the easiest jo amon fight in this game series, the blade block ability, made it seem like cheese. Tiger drop works like a charm even if you can barley get the frames right. No where near as messed up as amon in 0-2

Also "Hear This In The Game" might be my favorite Amon theme in the series, I love the various versions of Fiercest Warrior, but that one is just so intense and brutal it fits Amon like a glove. Or the way you treated Amon here.

Yeah, we did get Fiercest Warrior for quite a few games now, and the versions are consistently good (Kiwami 2's version was perfect for the last showdown between Kiryu and Amon, for players at least), but I feel like it should've been the last version and future Amons should get something else.

So that same bullfighting ring seems to be near so many places already: Kamurocho, Sotenbori, Ryukyu? It's weird, even though I get that it's done such way just for speed up the development process. I know it wasn't the intention back then before 0 existed, but it seems Jo got good enough to beat 80's Majima easily in the machine. When 5 came out I thought he could use Kiryu's style because of this substory, but apparently he knew it before even meeting him.

I think he knew the style because of fighting Komaki. Minamida mentions that the two people Amon struggled against were Kiryu and an "old man" (can't think of any other absurdly skilled old man), I'd assume that after fighting Komaki, Amon just went "That's rad." and that's why he has the Dragon of Dojima style against Majima. (Remember that every fight against Komaki [that I can think of] has him using the DoD style) These are fairly big assumptions though, could very well be wrong.

I've unironically started trying to no damage Yakuza 0, and it's been hell on me. I'm making it unique in that enemies (in my primary save file) have 20x their base HP. I've done 3 fights already, including the Dojima Family. I know it's going to get even harder, but I just hope I've the tenacity to continue.

I dont know if you can use weapons against him though. I pulled out my Dragon Spear (which has a 100+ durability) for fun and he DESTROYED it with 1 attack. I cant remember if it's from the lightsabers or the gun

199 sub stories total, and no, you can't miss out on Amon here. You can "fail" sub stories and it will still count. You also need to do all of the hitman missions, and complete all of IF7.

You can always fight Amon regardless. The thing is, this game you can "fail" sub stories, but they still remain completed. So long as all 118 are completed you can still fight Amon, so he's not missable :)

Fiercest Warrior from Yakuza 0 should be the theme of the Amon Brothers when the Yakuza Boys fight them. Looking at Yakuza 3 Remastered, there were some missing flaws. I mean, this really should have gotten the Kiwami treatment, seriously. I really just wish this game was called Yakuza Kiwami 3. And it would have the same stuff from Yakuza Kiwami 2.
