Addictive too watch a few youtubers learn so much and get more ideas too tinker with.

This is the best structured and most informative home automation video I have ever watched. Thank you for it.

The room is inspiring. I transitioned to WFH this past year and my office/hobby space has just slowly gotten messier.

I can relate. It's hard keeping things clean. But I feel so much better when it is clean vs being in a bad mood cause it's a mess!

The aqara fp1 or fp2 is better at presence detection. The technology senses smaller movements like breathing typing etc but not as quick as PIR motion sensor. They work well combined together as group helper in home assistant then use that in automation.

Maybe get the lights turn on right before you enter the room, so you don’t trip over something when you step right into the room.

Some nice nuggets of info in here + inspo. Also love that analogy about your body regulating heat!

Smart office goals. Definitely going to look into motion sensors and automatic ikea blinds... but what baffles me the most is your homeassistant integration for your toilet. What does it do? Heated toilet seat? Bidet? Auto flush? Turn off the toilet entirely? The people need to know, Jimmy!
@JimmyTriesWorld11 ай бұрын
Haha. Didn't expect anyone to catch that. That's an integration for a humidity sensor in the bathroom. Turns the vent on when I take a hot shower, and turns off when humidity dips. Now you're having me think I need a smart bidet!

My work-from-home office is set up in our studio apartment in the back of the house. When my Alexa alarm wakes me up I simply say "good morning" to it and, via smart plugs (KASA), the lights and coffee pot are turned on in my office. I walk in to a lit room with brewed coffee waiting for me. I also use a wifi extender (via powerline) for a strong signal. It's a simple and affordable setup and, most importantly, it works great for me.

Sounds so simple yet functional without the use of sensors. Love it!

@@JimmyTriesWorld After watching your video I wondered if sensors would improve my setup, but I couldn't really see the need. I do wish I could use a smart thermostat for the heater, but it's a mini split heat pump that doesn't use a conventional thermostat.

Great info Do you have a Facebook page? Would be great to communicate with you regarding smart home/office building. I use all voice recognition due to being paralyzed from the neck down. Currently I am putting together a home office and I've been searching on the Internet best way to make my office space more accessible and with smart technology. Not much out there.
