That's a great explanation Jim. One of my favorite new features. Using the center gradient it works well on those distant mountains that are to blue.

Very helpful and I like the use of a luminosity mask to add control over the adjustment.

It's fun that there are various ways to make colors/tones more intense, and with controls. Thanks for showing Color Balance.

I appreciate the video - I am sure I would never have found this on my own,. This tool appears to make Color Balance easier to visualize.

thanks Steve and I do think it's a nice update to the tool especially when combined with luminosity masks, thanks!

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I see the new Color Balance more as ON1's attempt to copy LRC's color grading. But it lacks the ability to fine tune the 3 ranges. I use ON1 2024 a lot, but I prefer LRC for the color adjustments. I also find working with luminance and color ranges in LRC more intuitive than in ON1. I also lack the options in ON1 to add, subtract and intersect masks. A great advantage of ON1 for me is to have an opacity slider in every effect and local adjustment.

I do think that LR has come a long way in the last couple of years, esp around masking and color. And I'm glad for that. I think On1 has done a great job too, but for sure they are different and each has its strengths. Thanks for watching.

when i open colour balance I get sliders and not the wheels in your video. Why?
@JimNix10 ай бұрын
You need the most current version. This update came out about a month ago. Thanks.

thank you@@JimNix It is the latest edition... the mac version shows wheels and the windows version doesn't.

@@beegee2234 oh gosh I didn't realize that it's only on Mac right now - but I am sure they will update the PC version too

My copy of the new ON1 does NOT have this feature - am I doing something wrong?

Someone mentioned this is only on the Mac version right now, so maybe that's it?

How do you rate this ON1 against LRC? I’m considering cancelling my subscription, but don’t want to lose out on features etc.
@JimNix10 ай бұрын
They are both great products but I do use On1 more. On1 is sort of like a combination of LR and PS. It has layers, HDR, timelapse, focus stacking and more. It's really a solid product all around. I think if you went all in with On1 you wouldn't be missing anything significant.
