Thank you very much Ankit Sahab. Fortunately, Suzuki is not fussy regarding replacing KINGPIN Assembly because it is more a part issue than design. But the brake issue is a serious design FLAW. Thanks for your support and comments! Keep spreading videos to support me. 😊🙏

And whatever the case is, the brightest kid has something special to make it the way it is and that makes us love Jimny! What do you say? 😊

Wobble is somewhat maruti rectified by getting the kingpin and rotor disc mod sent to the sc across the country. However, i hardly had any issue. Secondly I never had any issue with braking at any passes in the harsh condition. The natural way at a higher altitude to break is to tap it twice on the break pedal and apply break as you want. Agree needs to be rectified a bit and is fixable, but almost all the cars do have desecrate level of braking at the high passes.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
Yes, you are right. Death wobble is more a awareness thing because Suzuki is supporting. Considering it is mountain goat and go anywhere vehicles as Suzuki projected this vehicle in this way. Your individual experience is just inadequate to discard many faced this and is life threatening issue of braking on high altitude which is not enough by saying a natural behaviour. Other NA are not projected like go anywhere which make Jimny a special category of vehicle for the reason people are buying it. Thanks for your comment.
@chimpride
@chimpride 2 ай бұрын
While I respect your perspective, it's important to distinguish individual experiences from broader technical realities. The reduced braking efficiency at high altitudes is a well-documented natural phenomenon due to lower air pressure, affecting all vehicles to varying degrees. Jimny’s ‘go-anywhere’ marketing doesn't negate the laws of physics or make it immune to such challenges. Your concerns are valid, but attributing this entirely to a design flaw requires more substantial evidence beyond anecdotal experiences. Your experience my experience or anyone else’s may vary but they don’t necessarily define a systemic issue. This is not unique to the Jimny but applies to many vehicles in similar conditions.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
@chimpride. Thanks and somewhat true, but I have mentioned possible solutions, this is the reason Suzuki must have worked on it thoroughly before it launched in the most diverse country of the world. Hope, you have grasped the video in its totality and called a design shortcoming a law of physics is not enough justification again. Concord was just abondoned completely just because law of physics was playing with human lives. WE MUST RESPECT THE LIVES AND ISSUES PEOPLE ARE FACING instead justifying with business logics. Anyways, thanks for putting across your point of view.

Sir about your turning radius topic i do admitted really jimny has low turning radius but sometimes I observed maximum car accident are found those car has high turning radius ,while driving on high speed on the road. Its all related to speed momentum and velocity....what i feel.
@MashofreaksAuto

Interesting observation however, ideally, whatever turning radius is always tuned optimally based on the vehicle so I not see it a cause for such event. But thanks for adding your interesting observation. Thanks 😊

Very valuable information. With your reason, I assume breaking issue is common in High altitudes with all vehicles ? But again, when Suzuki says Jimny is 'Mountain Goat', this breaking issue should not be in Jimny. Suzuki should honestly look into this.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your support Ganesh Sahab! ☺️🙏 Not all vehicles, only on this subject I can make a dedicated video. Let me explain it in little different way, it is more problematic for Jimny by design where engine vacuum is used by many other offroad functions too, not just braking. Also, this tall vehicle with a smaller engine makes it more vulnerable at high altitude because the entire vacuum is not available on demand. And Suzuki knows this very well but still they launched it in India without addition mods to make it GO ANYWHERE. Even though NA engines have these kinds of tendencies, it affects more in the case of Jimny being this GO ANYWHERE vehicle. In such a vehicle only engine VACUUM is not sufficient. It is not a big issue in TC engines. Hope, this explains ☺️👍

@@MashofreaksAuto Your channel very informative and helpful for Jimny owners. Issue with high altitude braking is concern though personally I have not experienced it yet, probably because I haven't been to any place beyond 3400 meters, also used 4H and 1st gear in manual alpha Jimny. I think keeping 1st gear with 2H or 2nd gear in 4H during steep climbs at high altitude might help in in creating enough braking power.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
Thank you and keep supporting and spreading the content. BTW, 4H and 4L are not for Tarmac or Gravel roads. If you are doing it you are actually killing your 4x4 and drivetrain. So be cautious. I can make a video on this if you want.

@varunyadav-f5f more appropriately uneven roads but not broken. On gravel, even if it is 40 or 20, it will hurt the drivetrain badly. Jimny is only part time 4wd which means, you need to engage it only if you are stuck, HONESTLY SPEAKING. Or in case you are not getting traction because of slush, snow etc.

Hello sir, I'm planning to buy a Jimny AT. Test drove one and was amazed by its performance on bad roads. Yet I want your advise on a few issues I noticed during the 10-12 km of rather lavish test drive on varying terrains - The brakes are not as proactive as even in my 10 year old i20 activ. 10 years ago I had a Kwid with rather scare brakes. Don't know if the issue I noticed was only with the Test drive vehicle or a design issue or flaw in general or less with AT only. Kindly illuminate. Secondly, whether AT is sufficiently okay for hills. I mean I don't want a situation that while climbing uphill the car rolling back or losing momentum. I want to enjoy the freedom of going anywhere & other cars also don't come close. Yet I want your expert advise regarding the AT Regards, Lalit.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
Dear Lalit ji, sure! For bad roads it is King of Offroader in terms least shocks you will feel inside. As I explained in many videos, not sure you get a chance to watch. I always keep on saying do not compare Jimny's brakes with hatch backs/sedan and not even creata, seltos and other high raised body types etc(I do not count such vehicles SUVs and thats misleading customer by calling them SUV). Please mind it all BOF vehicles in this price range, you will find the similar braking capability. Jimny braking is decent in cities and highways. But it is surely not promising on High Altitude, hopefully, you did watch that video as well, find it below: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHe3aXqIjaekZqs I also explained about AT vs MT in Hills, Highways, and cities, please watch these two videos for the complete answer but still if you have questions please let me know about anything specifig, I will surely answer your all queries. Also, I am thinking of doing a live session soon to answer all such questions. Please watch these two videos on MT vs AT, go sequentially and do not skip chapters for full understanding: 1. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIC4iXuIna90mMU 2. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWfEn5dtZa2kaKs Let me know if you need anything else! Thanks!

@MashofreaksAuto Sir, i've already watched these videos. I follow you regularly. But as I said, my concerns are specific. For instance, I'm okay with the car behaving less powered and less aggressive when uphill. I don't expect it to go at cruising speeds. A little manoueveribility is always welcome if one is a driving enthusiast. But I'm specifically worried if that deficit is serious for my experience in the hills says sometimes we encounter slopes that test not just the driver but also the car. Even momentum buildup is not enough on such uphills and the car makes you feel like it's not made for such uphills - like those fake overinflated SUVs. As you said in your videos concerning the brakes - I want it to be go everywhere car. Not that I'm a hardcore offroader but at least the automatic must be decent enough to climb any uphill tarmac road. Does the automatic make that less difference or it's atleast that decent enough ? Regards.
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
Right Lalit ji, got it. Let me try to explain: First of all, Jimny automatic is not an AMT but 4 speed AT with torque converter which makes it very capable. Secondly, the driving style of this TC is a bit different than MT in terms of it will change the gear its own, right? So during the slopes, it may be a possibility due to high revv uphill you reach a speed which is a border line of the next gear and gear changes automatically which is possibly not welcome, right? To handle such situations, you can use L or 2 gear to handle it. Lastly, if it is not a hill highway where you can cruise a little then always switch off overdrive uphill or downhill which will not let you go beyond 3rd gear, in 90-95% cases in hills like this. So in a nutshell, it will not reduce its capability in hills being it is AT but there are different ways to tackle it which many enthusiasts dislike. But in terms of your concerns of sluggishness, AT is equally as good as MT and in terms of comforts AT is better than MT. Hope, this explains what you are looking for? 😊👍
@Fytttttd
@Fytttttd Ай бұрын
@@MashofreaksAuto well explained, sir. You sorted it very well. Thanks a lot. I also found the automatic more comforting and smooth for everyday drive. It only feels sluggish between 40-60/70km/hr. Otherwise quite comfortable for city ride. Would it be advisable to make up for the lag in response by pressing too hard on the pedal doing which the car picks up acceleration rather quickly but the engine sounds stressed as well ? Does that affect mileage / engine health ?
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto Ай бұрын
I always love to hear acknowledge with this gesture being useful and helped ☺️ 🙏 Pressing too hard you are playing with too many things, you will stress out the engine and the FE, but during a very high demand of highway in mid speed, you may use overdrive off for a moment but DO NOT overuse it. It is better you get habitual the way it is your family sitting with you and also praise your driving so smoothly 😊, right? Is that the answer to your question? Lalit ji, will you mind if I ask you to promote my videos and spread the word about the channel. That will be very helpful if you do so. Feel free to ask more questions.

Its a flop not because of only marketing and launch failures. Its a flop because its nothing special just a cheap, short lasting, use and throw toy: 1) Design problem of steering vibration that needs king pins + rotors + pads (+ steering damper optional) to be regularly replaced every 10k kms or so. A cost of INR 10000 +. Maruti is showing recalls and defective king pins to make it look like as on odd issue or defect and not any long term problem, but the wobble is regular wear and tear, replacing the parts Maruti is just procastinating the issue till its out of warranty. Note there is no fix for wobble it needs regular change of the above parts every 10k kms or maybe every oil change 2) Over priced. Should be cheaper than Brezza base i.e. should be 8 lakhs on the road. Build quality is same as other maruti cars (average/cheaper side, not upto SUV or rugged standards) , safety rating is 3 stars. Weighs same as brezza (1200 kgs). For comparison scorpio and bolero weigh above 1900/1700 + kgs. If 1900 kgs steel sells for 16Lakh, what should 1200kg steel sell for? Leave apart the diesel, power, ruggedness, road presence, resalve value and looks factor. Compare it with a Nexon and punch in real, not on youtube 3) Fuel economy of 11-12 kmpl 4) Super costly spares, cost as much as fortuner. Radiator costs 24000, grease seal on front axle wheel hub thats just a rubber costs 1800. King pin (505x4), brake rotors(2200x2), brake pads (3400) cost too much and need to be changed every 10000 km if you don't want steering wobble 5) Unavailability of parts or too long to procure even in service center. Generally takes 3 weeks for any part. No local inventory 6) Bad braking, stopping distance. Too big a turning radius of 5.7 m. For comparison Scorpio turning radius is 5.4m, bolero 5.7m, hatchbacks typically have 5.1m. Try a tight u-turn and you can see the problem. It takes too much space to turn 7) Uncomfortable in rear and barely survivable even in front. Driving for 100+ kms is not comfortable for the price one pays 8) Very low engine power. Small and thin tires and wheels because with such a low engine power thats all it can handle 9) Zero innovation than prevous or older models, just a face lift, with all the flaws stll there 10) High altitude brake vaccum problem, prepeller rubbing problem, etc. However I haven't verified these 2 myself 11) Boot door loosens and sags over time very quickly due to poor build and heavy spare wheel mounted 12) Ground clearnace is only 210mm and is just a number and if you look carefully even fronx, ignis, brezza look equally high from the road. Don't compare numbers, kneel down and look under the cars to compare. IMO there is not too much this vehcile can do which a TATA nano cannot 13) Absolutely zero after market support. Its an off roader, where will one get it repaired if it breaks somewhere in himalyas. Add the lack of mechanics and spare availability, chances are one will face a nightmare if such a thing happens 14) Garbage after 5 years (50000km) and no resale value. Chances are it won't be working by that time as most people will not be able to get it repaired due to parts unavailable and/or mechanics not used to it. 15) Discontinued in europe and sooner than later will be discontinued in every country including India. Hence Suzuki tries to find a new 3rd world country to sell it every few years Its a use and throw toy, not a vehicle. Its a global flop in todays world no matter how respected it was in the ancient past or Gypsy time. I will be surprised to see if it sells even if Maruti starts selling it at 8 lakh on the road price

Correct Jimny does have vacuum issues. Maybe the Brake booster can't hold vacuum well, The underpowered engine can't provide adequate vacuum for the booster. Pathetic attitude of MSIL I agree. A electric vacuum pump for redundancy should address this issue. A more robust non return valve, a vacuum storage canister for backup. We will need few more vacuum hose with non return valve, A electric vacuum pump with 12v supply is rated fuse and relay and we are good If any aftermarket car part manufacturer can do it, it will be a great buy

That's great Sunil Sahab that you are not faced with the braking issue in JIMNY during the SPITI trip. Kaza is almost 3400m and not much up and down instead when you go to COMIC, LANGZA, HIKKIM, CHICHAM, AND KIBBER. Narrow roads and you have at slow speed so braking isn't in demand as compared to the level of braking you need beyond Jispa to Leh crossing 4 very High passes or in Zanskar 5 different High passes due to rapidly changing roads, speed and steepness. The oxygen level also changes from time to time in the same height as I mentioned in the video. For death wobble, you can't do much except a few things, maintain the right tire pressure, do wheel balancing and alignment on time. If you face this issue then get replaced KINGPIN Assembly within the warranty period. Hope, this helps? Looking forward to my videos and content for awareness of more people. Thanks. 😊🙏

My friend, thanks for acknowledging this. There are three things we should do in parallel because this is one of the most serious issue: 1. Report this in service center and do not let them play with brake bleeding and all. Document the issue, ask them to send an email for escalation. 2. Also explain entire issue on email and send a copy to service center and Suzuki support. And follow up aggressively, do not give them much buffer time. 3. Spread this video as much as you can so many others will be doing same thing and indirectly supporting you and let SUZUKI know this is the issue with a very large or entire JIMNY community. Please follow all these seriously get support as soon as possible. Nobody will listen to you post warranty, THIS IS THE TIME TO ACTION. Good Luck 🤞

Some of the new generation Gymnys are offered in the international market but the Indian market is ignored so far. Thanks for cautioning budding off roaders.

Right sir, for example ADAS is offered in many countries. Not many countries have high altitudes, therefore Suzuki never tested this with so-called Mountain Goat. Many thanks for your support and contribution to the forum 😀👍🙏

A niche market for off-road vehicles is taking shape in India rapidly.More and more people are crazy to explore Himalayan cold deserts, sub Himalayan regions etc. Capable off-road vehicles like the Toyota 4 runner clan can be a good choice. Let's see how Indian auto makers cater to this segment with worthy machines.

ABSOLUTELY Sir! 👍 It is a nightmare for Suzuki by calling off-road vehicles as LIFESTYLE MOUNTAIN GOAT vehicles which were never tested even near such GOATs or high altitude motorable roads.

Sir I want to buy Jimny I want a vehicle which does well on bad roads and I don’t have to worry about damaging vehicle. I have no technical knowledge about cars. I just want a vehicle which can go anywhere without worry. I have seen some of your videos regarding some severe problems in jimny. So just confused if I should buy it or not. The thing is there is no other vehicle which is in same category and price. I done want a soft car, want something wherein I don’t have to break on every other pothole

Parvez Sahab, I can understand your concern. Jimny is a breeze for bad roads, no doubt. The most working concerns are: Prop shaft which is not going to hurt you in shorter term in most cases. And other is High Altitude Braking, which is another serious concern, I agree. But how many times you go to those high altitudes so you have to access that. I am not saying you should buy it or should not buy it. It's a tough choice, but remember, every vehicle has its pros and cons. I'm here to help you make an informed decision. Jimny is a reliable vehicle except few shortcomings. I am also soon going to make a video on subject which probably give you insight whether one should go for Jimny or not. Feel free to ask any specific question you have in your mind and I will be happy to assist you with. Good luck!

I personally do not compare these two because there have different utilities. But yes, for buyers who want to buy a 4x4 vehicle spending a good amount of money can compare them. These two behave very differently. If you just consider petrol 4x4 probably Jimny is more practical. Rest it is a matter of choice Shaik sahab! 😊👍

Nice vid man, But won't a booster give load & stress on a naturally aspirated engine which is already weaker, less powerful?
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
Thanks 😊👍 Well, this is a good question. Let me try to answer it: Calling it a weaker engine is a LOUDER term but yes it could have been more powerful e.g 1.8L with additional 25-30 hp. I agree but the bigger issue here is the engine is used here for multiple vacuum assisted jobs apart from braking which is a bigger concern to overload it but not a slightly bigger booster. And Booster is super important for braking. The simplest thing Suzuki should have done with it by fitting a dedicated 12v vacuum pump which runs on DC but not with engine power saves some engine cycles. The simplest things Suzuki is not understanding or avoided because of additional manufacturing cost, r&d, testing, etc. Hope this explains it to you! 👍😊

@MashofreaksAuto man v well answered. In this case all they must have thought is why to take tension of some electrical fitting for braking which is again to be connected to ecu. And yes engine is not weak its just that petrol engine and then too many add ons making it less mileage machine which it already is & also ruining its offroad capability. Actually I think Suzuki has not made this machine for touring as such only for small drive and off road where it excels
@MashofreaksAuto
@MashofreaksAuto 2 ай бұрын
Great and your ECU point is so valid but these are peanuts for them to addresses. Yes, too many ad-ons just for the engine. Still it gives best mileage in the class with great off-road capabilities. Well, I don't see it as a complete city vehicle, it is a kind of package that almost fits everywhere and I see it as a tiny OVERLANDER. I am from the hills so I got more chances to explore its capabilities in Hills. I found this very good on Highways as well. The only thing is to drive with patience. Only issue is SUZUKI never had a VISION to launch and place this car properly in India where they HIT by two things BADLY, one is most DIVERSE PEOPLE and MOST DIVERSE TERRAINS in the single country so they have never done those fix and research with the POOR VISION of leadership or wrongly influenced by automobiles journalists. Suzuki has wasted 40+ years of their experience in India with this single product. That is my TAKE AWAY. BUT still they have TIME by improving it for the current OWNERS and is only way to come back by keeping their AREOGANCE aside. Welcome to "JIMNY COOKBOOK SERIES" 😀 Great discussion, keep on supporting and HELP to SPREAD my content mate, thanks again 😊 👍🙏

Suzuki should be dragged to Consumer court for putting the lives of its customers in danger. Aslo they didn’t test the vehicle at that height. We should also bring it to the notice of Transport Minister.

This is not something related to this video, but asking this because I can see a lot of jimny owners here, I booked a jimny MT alpha variant and I am going to receive it this Wednesday (27th Nov 2024), I got a list of accessories from the showroom, Based on your experience, what are the accessories I should buy and what are the accessories I shouldn't buy?? My use case will be like 70% on the road and 30% off road, I am going to stick with stock tyres as I am not planning to do any extreme off road events. Thanks
