Gen 3 OU is 100% the Melee of Pokemon singles. It's fundies heavy, with fewer options overall leading to individual Pokemon having more flexible and meaningful niches. Very straightforward metagame because you know what to expect most of the games. Techs and options that cannot exist in other games because of the mechanics being different (such as the physical/special split). The community absolutely carries this on their back, since everyone else moved on already, so to speak. There are a lot of cool highlights to gen 3 that we never got to see outside of these guys pulling that community with their teeth. It's honestly really freaking cool to think about. I love that this video can exist. Iron Mugulis will not outperform this vid. Probably just going to react to this anyway to farm views. Insidious cup

I slowly came to a general understanding of the game and its mechanics, but there were a lot of unexplained gaps. I found your channel a month or two ago and have watched you for dozens of hours at this point. Now I know why I never see you play Snorelax. It requires a lot of team support, so it isn't flexible can't be slapped on to most teams.

In terms of Taunt turns, and since I didn’t see it on the Iceberg image at the start of the vid (I may have just missed it lol), a tangent move is Encore. It’s not specific to Gen 3 since it’s also relevant in Gen 4 but the Encore turns are variable, lasting from 2 to 6 turns compared to moderns Gens where it always lasts for 3. Less relevant than Taunt I think but still interesting I think
