You should change the title to “Reset oil change interval”. This method does not reset the “Service due” indicator.

this just work for reset the oil interval !! however in Q5 also show a phrase that say SERVICE DUE! that phrase won't reset i have been researching at it looks like i need a vag scanner.

Jim, we just bought a 2016 A6 and I changed the oil. Is the procedure to reset the "change oil" message the same as the video for a 2014????

Thanks for the video... Does this take time to register? I have a 2010 A5 and I just did exactly what you did and though the big screen says the new interval the center display still shows the old information. Same thing on my wife's 2011 A4.

Affected Vehicles CONDITION After performing service work and resetting the Service Display using Vehicle Self Diagnosis, the service reminder reappears immediately or soon after the customer leaves the dealership. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND Worldwide, service items are divided into two groups: those triggered by accrued mileage and those triggered by elapsed time. For customer convenience, North America groups these two kinds of service items together at our published service intervals. For example, both time-related and mileage-related service items are performed at the 15K service. This practice reduces the how often the customer must visit the dealer for routine maintenance. In some other parts of the world, these two categories of service items are treated individually, and are therefore reset individually via separate adaptation channels in the instrument cluster. jimthecarguy Thanks for the reply Jim. I think I've mistaken the service interval reminder with the oil change reminder - although the display seems to indicate it's one in the same. My center display says, "Service in 700 miles, 11 days". I've done some research and it seems the only way to reset it is with the VAG-COM or RossTech - which the tsb in your reply seems to suggest. I'm gonna try it tomorrow with the RossTech and reply here with my findings for everyone. Thanks again, we need more people helping each other out!

Randy Oudit I had to buy the Valcom tool to clear the "Service due" reminder. Valcom resets it to the next 10,000 interval.

+Savannah dEE This is the procedure for your car.Let me know how you do.Jim Insert key into ignition Push in the service button (with the crescent wrench icon), just left of the odometer reset button, hold it in, and turn ignition ON without starting engine. The display should read either "SERVICE IN ????Miles" or "Service!" if it does not, repeat steps #1 and #2. To reset, push and hold the odometer reset button until you see "SERVICE IN --- MILES --DAYS" or "SERVICE!".. Turn the ignition off. If done correctly, when the ignition is turned back on, the "Service!" reminder will not show.Note: Perform step #4 before the "Service!" message disappears and changes to the usual message about holding the brake down while shifting out of Park. Do not reset the display between service intervals. Doing so will result in an incorrect display. The service display information will remain intact even if the battery is disconnected. If a priority 1 malfunction is detected (red symbol), you cannot display the distance remaining.
