On no fanboy shh, but on some real battle rap love shh, Serius would be one of the faces on a Mt. Rushmore hypothetical, easy. How many battle rappers have we heard use the "I said" ad lib, or the years long, over saturated use of his phone scheme in the Mook battle? We don't even need to mention the mannerisms(ask Math about that), or the one who arguably started the freestyle rebuttals. I cram to understand why we continue to do as a culture what comes so easy all the time, and that's forget. Jones is susceptible to acting like probably any one of us would with that kind of talent, and fame, so then it becomes real easy to hate, and convince people of another narrative, like sun is washed up, and old. He seems to be trying to clean that up, and he's done enough within the culture to at least look 2wice. Dudes be closet fans on the low, and when they get their opportunity to battle, they have to psyche themselves up to believe a lot of what can be considered delusional. Money has nada to do with this, and has actually contributed to the downfall of the sport. Jones is a legend, hands down, along with Mook, and Loaded. That's the "holy trinity" right now, until certified, unique, and original spitters convincingly come through, and prove otherwise. Right now though, the hottest has to be Tay, Hollow, Tsu, maybe Pat, Brizz, and a few other I'm forgetting at the moment. Lastly, and sadly, we're more than likely witnessing battle rap's last days, unless something totally unreal takes place sometime soon. Respect, AF.
