Jinger ignore people who have nothing positive to say to you about anything. It is because you were on TV and also because they are jealous of you. Look how far you have come. You have a beautiful marriage and children. You are working through the things you have experienced and that is your journey and no one else's. Take that from an older Catholic grandmother. Be proud of the young woman you are and what you have achieved yourself. Believe God is pleased with you and that is enough. Wishing you continued Blessings and a healthy new baby. 🙏🥰

I remember watching this show when all the kids were younger and thinking Jinger is the one who will speak out the truth later in life. You have become the strong woman I always suspected you to be. I am so glad that you found a Godly man who showed you the truth behind scripture. Someone who pulled from your love of Christ and showed you what relationships can be like. You are a very brave woman.

I love how it feels like you're sitting down with a friend and talking. Jinger, you are reaching people in such a precious way! Thank you for sharing your heart and letting every one of us people pleasers that we are not alone!

I love the way Jeremy actually wants to really know your heart and understand your heart! He listens to you he helps you work through alot of it without judgment❤ My husband is the same way. I was abused by religion growing up. I was also physically abused. (SPARE THE ROD SPOIL THE CHILD) they really lived by that. See, my mama died when i was 9, so my grandparents stepped in to help my daddy with 4 girls. He worked all the time. My family is Pentecostal! We all live on the Alabama/ Tennessee line. Old white churches everywhere they are beautiful . I had to grow up and untangle my faith. Also, I understand!!

Literally I would have been your friend back then , because my friends struggled in my teens and I had to let them know, Gods approval was all we needed. I felt bad and prayed for them and me. God is beautiful especially when you are being brave.

To be honest, I wasn't originally as excited about this book as the others.. judging solely on the title. I've never considered myself a people pleaser. I feel pretty confident speaking my mind and/or sharing my opinions.. so I didn't feel like it would be relevant to me. But wow! When you really broke it down, I found myself surprised at how much of what you said felt personal. Especially hospitality.. I rarely invite people over to my house bc I feel like it needs to be scrubbed and spotless. I hate when people just show up unannounced. It fills me with dread and anxiety. Its humbling to admit my first impression may have been very wrong. Good luck with your new book, Jinger! I hope it does well and helps many. Blessings💛

Same! I’ve been personally attacked by people for car seats. In reality, sorry but car seat installation is not rocket science! It comes with instructions and as long as you have followed the instructions it’s installed correctly! I remember it really getting to me! I had all the thoughts, was trying to prove them wrong and even purchased a new one just because I didn’t feel my child was safe afterwards. In reality it was just the angle I took the picture!

Critical thinking is stepping out of your own point of view and seeing the world without personal bias. As a Christian, that means to not only step out of personal bias but also see as God sees. That means not being self focused, but God focused. It means to love others and realize how our words impact others. So while we think we may have attained and at a young age believe we have the true perspective, until we put ourselves in other shoes - culture, life background, Biblical knowledge, we are not humbling ourselves. Not being a people pleaser does not mean having a more spiritual than others attitude - it does not mean publicly shaming those who have different convictions. A person can express their conviction without rebuking those with whom we disagree.. I was never a part of the movement you were in, but I have friends who were, and I respect their convictions. I would never shame them for their convictions of how they choose to live out their Christian life. I have experienced other things along my Christian life that I may not agree with. It wasn’t my place to tell them how I felt about their choices - that is God’s work in their heart. If they believe God through the Holy Spirit and studying God’s Word has led them to their conviction, who am I to publicly rebuke that conviction. Cultural choice convictions are different than Biblical doctrine. That doesn’t mean I can’t share my own convictions on my life choices, but it also doesn’t mean it is my place to tell them they are wrong - whether it be courtship, dresses, head covering, schooling, discipline, unless the Bible is clear on it as He is in the 10 commandments, which honoring your parents is one, then it boils down to a personal conviction - a personal life choice. Legalism is using works as a means of salvation. Liberty is showing our salvation through our works. A life style of a Christian who believes in salvation by grace and not of works is not legalism. We are called to be God pleasers of course, but we are not called to be self pleasers either. Speak the truth in love but honor your fellow believers and parents in doing so.
