I lived in China from 2000-2016. I saw Mosques and Uighur restaurants in Shanghai, where I lived and Shenzhen where I lived later on. There was a Mosque next to my place of work in Shenzhen and I befriended some Uighurs and made great friends with them. In other cities where I visited and lived including Beijing, Xian and Ningbo I saw many Mosques, Muslim restaurants and Muslim people. There are many Muslims all around China, from Xinjiang and Gansu and even central China. After I returned to Europe I was so angry with the complete lies made in the US backed media about Chinese oppression of Muslims! Even angrier with the people who have never set foot in China repeating and spreading these lies. It reflects the decency of China and the pathetic and evil nature of the US and its allies.

Regarding the removal of domes in some mosques in China, I can understand the reasons and grievance of both sides, the Chinese government and the local Muslims. Chinese government places utmost importance in unity, patriotism and harmony of the nation. They fear domes and minarets represent loyalty to another foreign country, eg., Saudi Arabia. China had a terrifying experience with the East Turkestan terrorist group. I think this so called "sinicization" of the domes and minarets is an extremely delicate issue and how to implement will be a challenging task.

One thing many of these so called scholars failed to mention. The Islam in China is from Mazhab of Hanafiyah , they are far more tolerant than the Mazhab of Wahhabi. Many kept forgetting , that China during the Republican Era , there was a Grand Mufti of the Hanafiyah Mazhab , not sure about today. However it is safe to assume , there must be a Grand Mufti there today or anything that similar in stature. Those who are against the Hanafiyah are often getting into Political factors which include separatism , especially those from opposite non Hanafiyah Mazhab. These are the very people screaming about human rights issues in China because they have a political agenda to oppose the dominance of Hanafiyah in the guise of persecution of Moslems so the separatism can be inflitrated and taken advantage to promote Non- Hanafiyah Mazhab who are less intolerant and militant in nature.
