Any power chord, scarf, a tie, your belt, and many more objects rope-like objects can be used, with training as a functional flexible weapon.
Flexible weapons can be used to block, absorb shock, joint lock, act as a whipping and striking tool, use as armour or protection and much more.
People around the world wear scarves, sarongs, turbans, belts, and other clothing that someone might have as an everyday carry. Learning a few basic principles of how you might be able to convert your clothing or an object like a power chord into a functional self defense tool.
Here is an intro to Flexible EDC (Everyday Carry) self-defence training.
