Vlad has forged his own way with the drums. Everything he does is in service to creating his own style. He holds both sticks upside down, he tilts his floor toms away for maxium angle, he tunes his toms to compliment the low end and not stand out on their own, his snare is the only drum that boldly stands out of the mix and rightfully so . It is so refreshing to see a drummer go out of his way to do something different, yet still compliments the music so perfectly.

Totally digging everything about his playing and set up. Yes, a bigger kit gives you more options, but a small kit really pushes your creativity. And he's how I found out about this band - I stumbled across the I Speak Astronomy live drum cam and fell down the Jinjer rabbitt hole!. Keep it up.

While I very much appreciate the band for putting these playthrough vids out here for us, I think the value of a playthrough lies on the ability to view the whole drumming experience, not on highly overproduced shots and lighting effects, and the moving camera focusing on the cymbals on some parts and moving around as much, diminishes that experience for me at least. But still, really impressive drumming thank you for posting these videos!
@philanaemic5 жыл бұрын
It's just a drum POV from the Ape video footage, not a real playthrough as such. He's obviously not fucking around though, that must have been a loud as hell shoot.
@Module79L5 жыл бұрын
This isn't your "normal" playthrough and it wasn't overproduced, it's the same set of the official video minus the rest of the band. I think they were on a tight schedule, so probably they put an extra camera man only on Vlad during the filming of the song's video, hence the "effects", because they didn't have time to do a proper playthrough. Better something than nothing, I'd say. : )
@degogaming5 жыл бұрын
@@philanaemic Yeah, this man knows his drum parts so well, it's great watching a drummer who takes his craft so seriously, I've noticed in other Jinjer videos (because they switch drummers so often) they're playing different stuff during the shoot, but not Vlad, he plays the exact track and knows every single stroke!
@philanaemic5 жыл бұрын
@@Module79L this is just a standard way of shooting ensemble music vids. You'll have a full playthrough of each member solo, and a full playthrough of the full band + maybe a few shots of combo members and then the director will edit segments of each together.
@Module79L5 жыл бұрын
@@philanaemic - That's more or less what I wrote. We posted our comments at the same time, if I had seen your reply to Diego I would've refrained from writing mine. : )
