If it sounds huge don't forget to credit the sound engineer! His playing is super smooth and it shows a loooot of control to be able to switch the leading-hand role. But the kit doesn't sound that big really. In fact it feels a little over-compressed to me. Give a listen to Northlane's drummer Nic Pettersen. Some of his playthroughs are amazing and sound massive!

What do you mean? Of course, he's my favourite, but I don't understand your claim: it didn't sound, like he had 10 toms, or whatever... It sounded the way, it really is

Yeeeah ik what u want to say but that isn't a simple kit. It has 9 cymbals on top of it they are really big 2 toms kick and snare, it's a really beautiful kit but i personally don't like them being so low but that's all about you how they fit you.
@philanaemic5 жыл бұрын
@@fizzyfran2886 They're not that big at all, Vlad isn't very tall. Looks like a pretty standard 22" BD, 12" & 16" toms. Cymbals look like 20"-ers. One reason for having things down low is that he doesn't cross his hands over to play the hihat, and not using the 12" tom in the rack position means he have more clearance over the kit.

ever heard the kiss theory ? keep it simple stupid ? but i my self dont care how hard my kit is to move set up. how much time i think ill save . i dont care how lazy i think ill become. im not down sizing my kit. being a drummer is about having your creativity. having sounds. we get those from having more pieces. now tony bozio yeah um i dont want a kit that damn big LOL> or like achellies prepiester lol. his kit is huge too. BUT thats my style of music also that i like to play most. so for that area of metal down sizing a kit is not a option. but got some djent break downs and keeping music simple then yea take everything away accept some brass. snare and bass. see what kinda beats you come up with. and im being serious :) but to down size cause want a lighter kit is getting lazy bro. us drummers have a rep to hold up to. lol. dont be lars and take away 50% ya drums cause ya dont wanna write any more lol. jk
@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power5 жыл бұрын
@@StevesDIYProjects7 we're not talking about downsizing kit setups, brother, we're talking about drum and cymbal placement to increase efficiency, speed, and minimize stick travel. and also mic-ing such setups. i like percussion colors and options, too, so my kit is pretty huge _and_ tight. i would _not_ move a kit like that back and forth for gigs or whatever. it's waaaay too tight to break down and set up repeatedly. i haven't played anything other than church for like a year or two, but i've always had a simple travel kit for outside gigs.
