This song reminds me of Teacher, Teacher! In a sense that there is a lot of different music sections, and variety of vocal moments that are fantastic! Really digging this song more & more as I listen to it today.

As usual, great freaking reaction! I'd recommend you go really old or really new now: Scissors (live)/Ape/Perennial. Perennial has both an official video and an official live video, you can take your pick! Ape is my favorite from these, so I hope you do it sometime =]

Great reaction! Yea, Dmitriy Kim played drums 2014-2016, and plays on "King of Everything". Totally bad-ass drummer, VERY hard act to follow. The guy is SUPER tight and his rhythmic placement is completely on-point. Enter Vladislav Ulasevich, current Jinjer drummer since mid 2016, and plays on the "Micro" EP. Vlad not only fills in Dmitriy's shoes, but takes the progressive in Jinjer up about 10 more notches, AND covers all of Dmitriy's former playing. Vlad is also a capable guitarist and bass player, and contributes heavily to Jinjer's song writing. Keep on "Jinjer'eacting" brotha!

Outlander (live). It’s unique in the Jinjer I’ve heard in that she goes from clean singing to growling in 1 breath. It’s a banger.

There are a few lines in Teacher Teacher where she changes mid-line. Also their old song Destroy has 2 verses where she does this a lot - the Beastarium recording session has the best sound.

Jinjer is so unique it is a shot in the arm, you never know what direction to go with them because they seem to take you to where you think you should go then they completely go a different direction which is what makes them so great! The full band has a place in everything musically. They are going to blow up!

One thing about Jinjer is that it is almost NEVER verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus. The theming will usually be consistent, but they have no regard for conventional musical structure most of the time. And that's what keeps me coming back (along with literally everything else about them)

I still stand by what I said, in terms of some lives vs official videos. lol Here it benefits from both the studio vocal distortion on some verses (the background digital Tatiana moments) and the sense of space between those verses, and longer in general to sit with the song and its slower moments, including that false end. Have to say "Perennial" is another where that first listen, I recommend official video first. Said it elsewhere, but her performance in it, and not just vocally, and the themes in contrast going hand in hand of the video go really well together. The Wacken 2019 version you'll see recommended a ton is also really good, no mistake, and I would thoroughly recommend as a second choice. The energy/vibe is different, due to being a concert, and the type of song it is. Neither are exactly better than the other version, just a different overall experience. Going older is also good too, to see differences and where they've come from "Bad Water" is a good choice, as is "Scissors." You'll likely end up seeing and hearing it all eventually though. XD

I agree about space. My main gripe with this song live is that those lines that are done with the distortion in the official video get crammed together.

Best to use their official videos for 1st time listens, Then see how songs work live. This song has a lot going on. The more listens you give it, the more sense it makes and the better the song gets. Try an older BANGER liie OUTLANDER the 2014 Ukrainian best metal video.

Like 233! They kind of do it on purpose. In fact, the pop-style of singing, the "Death Metal" vocals, the bass slapping, the blast beats, the groovy beats, the odd time signatures, the quick guitar runs, the standard Metal riffage, they're all meant to serve a purpose in a particular song's structure, that's why they all sound different from each other. What's the point of infusing your influences in the music you make if no one can hear them? ; ) Good job catching the different drummer. This one is Dmitriy Kim, the studio tech guy. He joined Jinjer provisionally after Mantulin's accident but ended up recording King Of Everything, the album that propelled Jinjer into the international Metal scene, and also played in the first part of the tour they did to promote the album. You'll see him in all the videos of the album's songs but also in the "official" Outlander video, at the 2014 Ukrainian Metal Awards. Btw, there a Making Of video of this video. You should check it out, it's very interesting. : )

I love the live performance at Resurrection Fest, but you absolutely can't go wrong with the official video. I enjoy that this is a love song, with fry screams. She has said this is her way of reaching out to the universe to find someone she can connect to. That really comes through in the passionate belting in the end. What I love most about the live performances, especially at Resurrection Fest where the sound is clearer than at Summer Breeze.

Official vid or live performance? In my opinion, flip a coin. ...0:42...hold on, if you love three songs your a Jinjer fan. Fantastic! 'wave your hand from parallel universe hidden in a folded palm. After twenty-eight light years my research must be ended somehow.' that's repeated three times at the end. My favorite live footage of this is live at Summerbreeze 2018. Just a suggestion but you need to turn your output volume up on the audio(mic is fine) whatever program your using to record this(if it's OBS it's pretty easy but not sure what your using), Won't affect your volume at all and it will give us higher audio for the music in which we can adjust it from our side. Output volume to 70% is what I usually keep it at when I'm streaming. Cheers to this vid, Fucken love this tune!
