Pull up the lyrics. This song has an amazing interpretation from a plants perspective. She said she wrote it because she hates fall since everything dies.

My favourite song by them by far.. and as many others have been telling you.. the live version at Wacken is way better and the guys performed it flawlessly.. Tatiana can sing even that long note without effort.. so I'm telling you.. you should as well make a reaction to the live one.. Cheers.. awesome stuff!
@Soulxlight
@Soulxlight 4 жыл бұрын
Wacken version is better. I love the deeper growls especially at the beginning. The long note feels even longer than it actually is. She takes a breathe after the first about four seconds and picks it back up at the same pitch and goes for another 8 or 9 after that. Her breathe control is the most impressive thing after her growls to be honest. She uses the motion where she bend down during the live performances to force all the air from her lungs so she can inhale more as she stands up. How seamless she does it is amazing.

@@Soulxlight I much prefer the studio vocals for the first verse. They're dynamic and emotional, and hit you like a punch in the face. The low, monotone standard death metal growl she uses in the live version has none of that immediacy and intensity. I like the overall live performance, but that sticks out like a sore thumb because it's my favorite part of my favorite Jinjer song.
@Neal_YouTube
@Neal_YouTube 4 жыл бұрын
@@Soulxlight I'm always fascinated when people say live songs are better than studio songs, because the studio song is technically the best version of the song that the artist intends for you to hear. At best, a live song can only sound as good as a studio version, unless of course the band alters the song in some way for the live version. Example might be the extra cymbal hits in Who Is Gonna Be The One. In this case, while I love the live version because it is utterly impressive how well they perform it, prefer the studio version of this song because of how long she holds the word "Please" in the 2nd verse.
@Soulxlight
@Soulxlight 4 жыл бұрын
@@Neal_KZbin Sometimes the studio version is the best version the artist wants you to hear and sometimes it's the version the record company thinks will sell best to the widest audience. Micro has the versions of songs that sound closest to what Jinjer actually performs on stage although the studio version tends to sound cleaner as they usually do. I, personally, just tend to like Tatiana's deeper harsher live growls. I do prefer the studio ending segment. They layer her voice I believe a few times to get that desperate blood chilling scream on the second time through the "From the ashes of my roots" part. Cloud Factory, the song not the entire album, is another that I much prefer the live version. The studio version of that one just sound kinda flat.

The live version is great, but the official video is obviously amazing too so you aren't making a mistake doing it this way. Also this way you can get the little joke she makes about the song in the live performance "or, rather not goodbye, but see you next time!" It will get harder and harder to pick a favorite Jinjer song, or even if you find a real favorite to rank others after it. They are just so darn good. The word "perennial" has a lot of meanings, but the most relevant is plants that die back in the winter and regrow in the spring, and the song is about that natural process, but also more broadly about dissolution and rebirth. And maybe linking the passion of a new human relationship to the spring and its decline to autumn, or is it her love of nature? This is one of Tati's most brilliantly written songs, but is inspired by her chronic depression that gets much worse in the winter. The poetic descriptions of autumn are beautiful and very clever. For example the lines "how spectacular she is when she kills herself; death throes are crawling to her toes; as the last leaf is falling off her head" are a reference to fall colors being caused by the metabolic processes where trees pull the nutrients out of their leaves and exposed limbs, into their roots to hibernate "no, we're not dead; no we're not dead; just enjoying coma..."
@Module79L
@Module79L 4 жыл бұрын
Man, your comments are getting as poetic as Tatiana's lyrics! XD Maybe all the Nature documentaries she binge watched while she was waiting for the boys to complete the songs were about Fall and that triggered her inner feelings about the season.

Jeffrey Fisher ‘This is poetry of me and you’ gives us a general context, supposedly it talks about things that concern all of humanity, not just about personal feelings. ‘Mass destruction - total reconstruction’ - it can be lines with philosophical overtones, about the historical cycles of prosperity and fall, about the psychology of dualism of perfection and development and self-destruction

5:14 - One thing that many people don't know is that after Eugene's tapping part, right before the note you mentioned, the arpeggiated part that Roman plays is also done with tapping but hardly anyone sees it in the live videos because the freaking camera operators are too busy focusing on Tatiana! Poor Roman... 8:25 - 11 secs, to be precise. You'll have the pleasure of witnessing it "up close and personal" in the live video. Oops, I just gave away the answer to your question. : ) The transitions from the Fry Screams to the clean singing you also mentioned should be, at least in theory, harder to replicate live because this is a studio version and she could do both separately. But it's Tatiana were talking about, so expect greatness. Like 70!

First off, (hope you see this) I want to say that you're becoming one of my favorite reaction channels on KZbin. Love your knowledge of the music/business (Jinjer) and you're GENUINE love of the music. SO MANY of these reactors are total phonies, reacting to bands like Jinjer just for the clicks and traffic. They're fakeness shines right through. The FEW reactors like yourself who genuinely like the music and care is very much appreciated. Your voice is awesome, too. Anyhow, now that their new album is out, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, don't just go and ignore their old stuff now. There's SO MUCH that you haven't seen/heard or reacted to and most definitely need to. 1. Cloud Factory live (official) 2. Outlander live (official) 3. I Speak Astronomy (official video) 4. Just Another (official video) 5. Words of Wisdom (live or official video). Either is GREAT! The live version is from the same show that 'Who's Gonna Be the One' was filmed at. 6. Captain Clock (Live Resurrection Fest) I'd start with these before you delve into the new album. And I'd do them in the above order. And PLEASE put out more Jinjer reactions and MORE FREQUENTLY. LOVE your work, thanks!

If and when you check out Cloud Factory live, keep an eye out early in the video for her to flash her bra at Vlad (drummer). This is her sexiest performance, in my opinion. Her best looking , as well, tied with the Perennial snow scene. It's Tatiana, however, she's ALWAYS a goddess. Also, it's probably only me, but her singing style in the CF live video makes me think of early Axl Rose for some reason.

I think that the official video is a masterpiece: brilliant singing, music, acting and cinematography with perfect match of the visuals to the beautiful deep lyrics. It was a wise decision to watch the video first and then the live. Only people who are not perceptive to visual arts can say about the live being better than the video. The two versions are different, and I cannot even compare just one element (a musical performance) in the live to a complex of different arts in the official video.

Just discovered your channel. saw Jinjer late 2017 and they are awesome live. tatiana sounds ridiculously good. going again in 3 weeks in London. As you now appreciate the wonderful stuff they do I have great news for you. Fist album cloud factory is superb. pretty much every song is a cracker. next album king Of everything is one of the best metal albums ever. It really is that good. new ep was great but I was still very nervous as new album couldnt possibly be as good as KOE. To my astonishment I think it may well be and might be even better. I thought perennial was great, then heard On The Top pit of consciousness judgement & punishment etc. Its unbelievable. You should check out all their songs. Their catalogue now compares favourably with Pantera, Slayer, Biohazard, Metallica, System Of a Down, etc, etc.
