I love it when musicians react to this. People always request this to see the "omg face" at the first transition. Which is kind of ridiculous to me... because most metalheads and metal/rock musicians can see that shit coming from a mile away. But hardly anyone talks about how tight, technical and proficient the band actually are. Occasionally someone will mention the drummer but nobody EVER talks about the bassist. Such a fuckin' shame.

I’m a drummer and it’s nice to see another MUSiCians reaction! There’s so many toolbags on KZbin jumping on the reaction bandwagon whom all they do is react to the looks of Tatiana and her vocals! There’s not one weak member in this band, they are just as amazing live. And they are the most humble “coolest” people that are just grinding and jamming...... they are so tight that I’m finding it hard to like other bands !

@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
My only caveat is, that as great as the studio video of Pit Of Consciousness is, the Live in Kiev video has better growls. They did 152 shows the year they recorded the Macro album so time for recording was tight and Tatiana mostly improvised her vocals on that album. They are still great because she is an inhuman vocal genius, but she had time to practice Pit Of Consciousness on the road before filming the Kiev version and her growls in that are savage - the most brutal growls on anything they've released IMO (Who Is Gonna Be The One is also more brutal on stage now than in the official live because her technique is always growing). Along with Perennial though, POC is one that you could legitimately do reactions to both versions.

@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
Fun reaction. Subbed on one of your Spiritbox videos. They are extremely experienced on the road and bring it in concert, so you'll get lots of requests for concert performance videos. This one is only "live-ish" unfortunately (layered vocals, cutting together different parts, etc), but is still really good and is the place most people, or at least most reaction channels start their Jinjer journey. For people who aren't familiar with great female vocalists who can both sing and growl, the shock factor of that vocal ambush on the first chorus is epic. You'll mostly get requests for studio videos for these guys when there isn't a top-quality concert video available, mostly for their older and newer songs. Napalm does a great job with pro-shot concert video, and Tatiana in particular is an amazing performer as well as vocalist and lyricist. I'd suggest Perennial at Wacken as a next stop to see a well-balanced performance showcasing all their skills that actually is live, or Who Is Gonna Be The One official live for a banging protest song with the focus on growling vocals (you haven't heard everything she can do with her growls :D ) but some cool cleans too. Teacher Teacher is the first official video with studio sound I'd suggest. Perennial official is great too, but if you're only going to do one version of Perennial, do the Wacken performance. Cheers!
@sauletto14 жыл бұрын
You are the "only" reaction video that was focused on the musicianship of each member , and not just tripping out over her vocals (which are incredible ). You are in for a treat. As good as this is, it isn't even close to their best song. And you think this was technical? Wait for it. Just wait for it. Welcome to Jinjer. I'll just add my list to everyone else's. Who is Gonna Be The One (Live) Perennial Live at Wacken 2019 (there is an official video but other than some cool imagery, the live performance is so good you don't gain too much) I Speak Astronomy (Official Video) Just Another (Official Video) Teacher, Teacher (Official Video) On The Top (both Official Video and Live in Kiev) Scissors (Official Video) Captain Clock (Live and Official Video) Words of Wisdom (Official Video) Judgement and Punishment (Official Video and they just released a live performance as well) Bad Water (Official Video) Outlander (Official Video) Retrospection (Official Video) Sit, Stay, Rollover (Official Video) Ape (Official Video) Cloud Factory (Official Video and Live) And generally everything else you can find because it's all gold. Some of their official videos look like "live" performances but not all of their videos are heavily produced but are rather just the album track overlayed over some live footage synced up with the action and lips moving as much as possible.

Following this track, Teacher Teacher from their recent EP is a good next step, especially if you're looking for smooth bass parts. For something a bit different, the album version of I Speak Astronomy from the same album as Pieces has some rather beautiful arrangement. For true live material, Perennial is beautiful. Who's gonna be the one is huge and heavy hitting. Their latest album, Macro, has a fair amount of prog to it, so you can't really go wrong with any songs on there. Enjoy!

From somebody who had an ex who was an Opeth head and kinda put me off... As someone who's a huge Jinjer fan, do you have any recommendations for someone who's trying to learn to like Opeth but isn't a technical heavy person. I like raw, honest work, don't care if it's complex or not but usually the hard hitting stuff is deceptively hard to play well even when it's simple. My philosophy has more to do with emotional communication, which is what music seems to be for, anything you think does the job? Albums or individual songs?

On whether "Pisces" was the song that broke JINJER into the mainstream: Tatiana: "Unfortunately, 'Pisces' lost its charm. It became viral, which I don't like. I don't like the huge hype that we're having right now. It wasn't supposed to be like this. This song is very personal and believe me, Pisces are not those people who are begging for our attention. I don't like this word, 'mainstream.' The people made it mainstream; we didn't. We didn't really want it to be like this. But nevertheless, on the other hand, it's really good. It's really good that this song is so much appreciated." www.blabbermouth.net/news/jinjers-tatiana-shmailyuk-i-dont-like-the-huge-hype-were-having-right-now/

I see this song as entry-level Jinjer. Now, don't get me wrong, it's the first song as I heard and it's still in my top 5, but it's about the most stripped-down, simple, basic song they have. Damn, Roguenjosh ... man... everybody came in to see another Reacting KZbinr dramatically changing face expression to disbelief and that little bit of terror when Tatiana switches to "the other one of the Pisces" and you disappoint'em all, me included I must admit, with that unchanged mental status like you already heard, no doubt, other female singers screaming like that... and if I may name just one I would go for Otep Shamaya from her band OTEP! Well, aside that "detail", not really a "little" one actually, let's just say it... I appreciated the way you underlined the qualities of this amazing band and their talented musicianship. I'm definitely curious to watch more of your reactions. If i may ask ask you a favour saying "please react to OTEP"... I keep on asking for that to all the Reactions channels on KZbin and still nobody dared to react to them.... in this case I dare even asking what always seems too much asking to a "first listener" but I'm sure you can handle it. Nobody seems to react to OTEP so.... why not being one of the first to actually do so? Usually I recommend a few official "lyrics videos" from their most recent album, KULT 45... but... this time I say... just go to their 1st great album, "Sevas Tra". Please!!!! Thanks in advance and huge hug to Australia, hoping the "fire disaster" can be forgotten soon and the amazing nature of that land I love take human stupidity over again. Cheers man!
