Tatiana lures people in with her vocal range, but the rest of the guys keep people coming back for more. There isn’t a weak member of this band. Glad to see someone giving Eugene the attention he deserves. And yes, they ARE sick as hell live. You’re right about metal fans just wanting people to listen to and enjoy the music we love. I for one am surrounded my closed-minded country music fans, so when I get to watch someone experience something I love, it’s deeply personal.

I couldn't have said it better myself Jen. I have been a metalhead for decades. I do listen to other genres as well, but I always come back to metal. Jinjer is a very unique band, because they have a crew that are SO VERY TALENTED, that even with a vocals like Tati, the band isn't overshadowed by her beautiful singing and screams. She is one of a kind, but the band as a whole is one of the best in the business, no questions asked! First time checking out the channel Josh, but I will be here for more. Stay safe and keep up the great work.

Jinjer draws from all different types of music from jazz, reggae, rock, pop, and even classical. Since you love the timing, within 2 minutes, in Pisces, they went through all these measures 4/4, 6/8.and 7/8. I can't say how musically talented they really are. Also, I wanted to point out that they do have a song where they change it up 6 different times throughout the song, I think that name of that song is I Speak Astronomy. Sorry, 3rd edit, did you pick up around the 4 minute mark of your video, before the blast beats comment that the entire band, skipped a beat, and picked up in sync? It is subtle, but you will notice it.

The bassist's name is Eugene Abdiukhanov. He's indeed a bass God, using a lot of slapping and tapping, and very often using it as a melodic instrument. If you check for example "Perennial" (live), you'll notice that in the slow part, the guitarist is leaving the melody to Eugene, and that is beautiful. Same with the intro of "retrospection". Fun fact, he was a judo champion in Ukraine too.

Check out their live performance of Judgement & Punishment - love the instrumentals in that even more than Tati's vocals and it is one of their best songs for the lyrics and vocal performances too, and shows off yet another vocal style from Tati. And even if just for your own enjoyment you should check out the bass playthrough with tabs for the song Eugene just released. If you want to analyze it though, non-musicians like myself would probably enjoy your insights. ;) They are definitely influenced by Mudvayne both in the music and vocals - Tati used Dig as the first song she practiced emulating when she was learning to growl, before moving on to Laid to Rest by LoG.

Eugene is the bass players name, he's been with the band since the beginning. Honestly one of the most underrated bass players in the world. This entire band are some of the greatest individual musicians in the world, but when you put them together you get something like this. Jinjer is the next big thing in metal music. Been following them for awhile now and so glad to see they are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

A bunch of people are suggesting checking out “Who’s Going to Be the One” or “Perennial” (live at Wacken), and I can’t disagree-those would be fantastic next tracks to check out. And just as a preemptive heads-up: If you might like to pronounce “Wacken” like the locals, one would say “Vah-ken.” (In German, “W” is pronounced like “V.”) I’m only mentioning that part just since most folks seem to stumble over that one a bit.

You asked how you missed Jinjer. It is, in my opinion, because they do not get radio play hardly at all. They do not fit into a genre. They hit Liquid Metal here in the States on satellite, but really only after they blew up on KZbin. They are their own genre. Word of mouth is how they have spread, so make sure you tell others, so they too can be taken in and blown away.

Tati is a beast and Jinjer is an awesome band,- we all know that by now. What really makes the difference for me is something most people seem to overlook. Jinjer, - being from the easternmost part of Europe bordering on Russia and what is the beginning of the Middle East,- their traditional music is based around folk tunes and folk dances rooted in a wide variety of off meters. Allmost none of their songs have any kind of straight backbeat to them or in them. Tons of 3/4, 5/4, 7/4, 12/8, 9/8, 6/4, 6/8, 15/8 etc,- but almost no 4/4 or 2/4 anywhere. If you sit down and start tapping your foot to any of their songs and then start counting meters and bars you´ll quickly find that they don´t adher to standard forms of doing rock, pop and metal songs,- yet everything they do is done so smoothly and with such fluency that nobody seems to notice. I have by now watched quite a few Jinjer reactions,- including from various musicians´s channels,- on rare occasions do even the musicians note anything funky going on,- be it Sarah of radiosomewhere or anybody else,.- which to me is very impressively done by Jinjer. Pisces is a very melodically flowing poppy song, but even when they chop things up and go percussive, though heavy and in your face, it´s still as groovy and flowing as a RHCP or Rage Against The Machine song. I´ve heard women growl ,fry and scream before,- it´s just that Tati is an absolute master at it, I´ve heard funky beats before, I´m a born metalhead so the guitar playing is nothing new to me but Jinjer´s combination of it all mated with their uncanny second nature sense of what to the rest of us would be off beat and strange rhythms stands out to me as being unique. And because they´re so god at it and it comes so naturally to them even the musicians don´t notice something that should be screaming in their faces! An awesome band and a high-level display of consumate musicianship. Only serves to heigthen my respect for them.

So, in case your wondering, every one of Jinjer's musical parts are written by the instrumentalists. The song is almost completely finished before before they hand the music over to Tatiana. She then composes words to what they have written. They have stated this in their interviews. They are utterly amazed on what she can do with their music. So, yeah, these are written very differently then most songs.

Loving the videos mate, so much better hearing someone who has something meaningful or knowledgeable to say about the music! If you want some local bands to check out, there's heaps of Aussie talent in the metal scene. Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope. Masterclass in composition. Caligula's Horse - Bloom/Marigold, or Graves if you really want an epic of a song. Reliqa - The Halfway Point. Much smaller band but so deserving of more recognition, they've got a fair bit of spoken/rap in their music. Ebonivory - Explosions After Dark, or Patting The Black Dog. Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name. Not Aussie, but such a banger and the video is too good.

Eugene (bass player) just uploaded new bass playthroughs with tabs to the Jinjer Official YT channel. He's a maniac. He's hugely influenced by Ryan Martinie, you'd appreciate this interview where they talk a little about that and brr brr deng kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJvJc3lrbM1le9E

Glad to see you caught a lot of the parts that make me smile in this song, but something that every musician misses in the very beginning. You can actually hear the bass string rattle against the frets as Eugene just slams against it. I assume he picks his strings like Ryan from mudvayne does, attacking into the string instead of just plucking them. Huge influence I hear. Keep on rocking with these guys, man, youre in for a treat.

I am Canadian and I never heard of them until last year even though they are from Victoria/Vancouver, British Columbia. Excellent group, Britney Slayes' vocals are up there with the best of them. Need to see live.

Yeah, they were here in Adelaide at the beginning of March - last gig I went to before the plague. They were nothing short of awesome. I'm sewing the patches onto my battle vest right now with a tear in my eye. They played Fowlers - get onto their Face Book page for concert updates in future (post plague). That's the only way I found out about it. It won't surprise you to hear that they got absolutely no publicity in Adelaide - I didn't see a single poster. Typical. Go Crows !

Yea JINJER's main influence is Mudvayne. Especially the bassist and the singer. I heard this in interviews. So know you know why the bassist is insane if you know Mudvayne.

My 2019 song of the year. Tremendous. All 4 of them are excellent at what they do, & are all pulling in the same direction to the betterment of each song imho. Playing a bit of bass myself as a hobby, I have a soft spot for Eugene tho- I can feel he appreciates Jaco as much as Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne tho, & I think that's why I love what he does so much. #WideRangingInfluencesFTW ;)

Hey man, great video..... If you are a bass player you should also check Who is gona be the one from Jinjer, especialy the intro..... As a personal opinion, in your videos the level of the track is a little too low compare to your voice. Other than that ,everything is excellent. Have a nice day dude....
