That line you mentioned, "Childhood of misery is life long injury" is a callback to the song Dreadful Moments, which Eugene talked about writing in the Audiotree interview. There are multiple songs from the Micro EP/Macro album which are connected. He said it was about a childhood friend and not anyone in Jinjer. Interesting you mentioned Opeth, as that is his favorite band. Jinjer is not only my favorite band, but they also helped break me out of the rut I was stuck in before finding them. They got me excited about new music again and I've found so many other great new bands since then.

REN brought me to Chinchilla, who brought me to two amazing subs who then recommended JINJER to me. It's refreshing, in this world of inconsequential radio nonsense, to find TRUE musicians. One must DIG for the diamond. There's no finding one loose on the ground. 💎

You're preaching to the choir, lol. I'm 52 and when I discovered Jinjer a couple years ago, I had pretty much given up on discovering new bands for several years, and hadnt even been to a concert in 10 years. Now, Im flying to Orlando in October to see them for the 4th time in less than 2 years, in the 4th different city and the 3rd different state. This band completely grabbed ahold of my life, and basically turned me into a teenager again. I love a lot of different bands, but no other band in my life, other than maybe Metallica when I was a teenager, has had the effect on me that Jinjer has. Their music just owns my soul now!🤘

Great reaction and your explanation of why you live Jinjer. My short story, not that anyone gives a shit but simply. In late 2016 I started watching reaction videos, I found them refreshing as someone hearing my old favorites brought back a slim resemblance of my 1st listens. On Christmas Eve 2016, my wife and son were asleep I was watching Lost in Vegas and finally clicked the Pisces reaction. I was flabbergasted with not just Tati’s vocals but the composition and lyricism. I then looked them up and saw Outlander (still my fav Jinjer song). I was hooked and in just a couple of months they had replaced Iron Maiden who had been my favorite band since 1983. I told Tati that when I had a chance in the meet and great in Tulsa in 2019, she was so sweet. As for Retrospection the lyrics “Childhood of misery is lifelong injury No, it's not for me. What I've always had Father's love and mother's hand” is so heartfelt. Having lost my dad when 20 and my mom just a couple of months before my marriage at 40, the feeling of loss just hits me. The fact that my dad could not see me grow up to be a man nor my mother ever hold my son is haunting.

I am of the mindset that - because energy never dies, it just changes form - when our bodies die, our energy is released back into the ether... often having imprinted on other peoples' energy. Simply put, the people you loved and who loved you back are always around you. I may be crazy, but the notion brings me comfort. My late mother hides my damned keys all the time.

Great reaction. I'm there with you...mid-50s and it's been many a moon since a band has gotten me this excited and maintained the excitement, over time. Seeing them live really sealed the deal for me. All of them are top notch....and their sound engineering team is fantastic. Tati is every bit as magnetic on stage as an in his prime,1980s era HR from Bad Brains was.....and he was, for a time....the greatest frontman in music. Well, James Brown would rightfully have something to say about that, but HR was a juggernaught on stage. And so is Tati. JINJER - On The Top (Live In Kiev) | Napalm Records

For me Tatiana is THE most magnetic front person I've ever seen. I was such a huge Stevie Nicks fan when I was 15 and saw Fleetwood Mac for the first time (on the self titled album when she and Lindsey Buckingham joined the band). I had posters of her on all my walls lol. I was beside myself to see her. But being up close when Tatiana performs is on a whole different level. I've been up close to David Lee Roth. David Coverdale. Bruce Dickinson. Rob Halford. Ronnie James Dio. Joe Elliott of Def Leppard. Geddy Lee. Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. Klaus Meine of Scorpions, James Hetfield, Geoff Tate, Chris Cornell, Ozzy, the list goes on. Tatiana is every bit as compelling as the best of them. These are the best front persons to ever grace a stage. She's right there. And you can get right up close. Close enough to make eye contact. It's kinda priceless. It's a bit like seeing Elvis.

This is great. How old is your daughter now? I'm taking my daughter to her first Jinjer show this October. She was 6 when I took her to her first concert, King's X front row. She loved having loud metal in the car on long trips. Such nostalgia for me. She saw Rush with me 16 times, including that very last show in 2015. She's 28 now. Last year I flew us both to San Diego to see Scorpions. I'm so excited for her to share Jinjer with me! She has some of the same disorders as Tatiana, including social anxiety and Seasonal Affective Disorder. She's already into the lyrics, and she's the one who taught me about fry screaming. I'm hoping she loves Jinjer live as much as I do.

My daughter is almost 30. She's the most amazing corporeal being in the history of existence. I don't have to be able to prove that for it to be gospel. 1:48 - Tatiana is the spitting image of her mother, isn't she? 😄 4:17 - That one there on the top right corner is the great Sasha, the magician behind Jinjer's live sound. A bit like George Martin, the so-called 5th Beatle, Sasha is the 5th Jinjer. He's like the older brother of all of them. You'll see him a lot on the tour vlogs. 7:26 - It's funny that you talk about music theory and knowledge when 2 of the 3 main composers in the band are self-taught. Vlad is the only one with formal musical training but I doubt that when he's composing he sits down and writes all the sh*t he comes up with in a musical score. I believe that, just like in Roman and Eugene's case, it's all by feeling. 🙂

I understand the upper echelon theory and yes, Jinjer is there. I would love to get your take on another band that is newer called Slaughter To Prevail. Their catalogue isn't as deep as Jinjer's but I get that "can't miss" vibe from them. The song Viking will get you into it rather quickly. As someone who follows the war in Ukraine very closely (can't help it I've always followed world events and now it's an attachment to this band) this song brings a tear. Her home town is just a few miles from the front line in Russian held territory. Her mother still lives there and even if Tatiana could go back to Ukraine she couldn't see her. She has to talk to her on the phone. It's about as wrong as it gets. Roman's family escaped Mariupol shortly after 95% of the structures (homes and businesses) were destroyed It's bad enough to go off and be international performers but then they can't even go home when they want to.
