My feeling, in absence of anything from the band yet is that at the heart it's about Tatiana's journey as a shy introvert taking on the quest of becoming a metal star. But equally I feel like a huge fraction of the female population can see themselves in this song. And, it could be equally relevant speaking for the countless Ukrainian women who've taken up arms to defend their nation. It's a great piece of work, and everyone involved has done amazing stuff here.

Okay, I joke and play about "Baby Jinjer" and really enjoy it, but THIS is a Fully Matured Grown Ass JINJER! Absolute Fire! Tati comes out with a lyrical masterpiece of pure poetry! I envision Vlad and the boys composing this music in the early days of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the chaos, fire, anger, vengeance! It translates so well into the music. Then Tati comes in and layers her full range of vocal talent how only she can do it! The continuing evolution of Jinjer is magical! I can't wait to hear the rest of the album, what a way to start!

Tatiana states “ ́Someone’s Daughter ́ is an artistic attempt to cast the light on the inner world of women, who in various scenarios and circumstances, have had to choose a path that was historically made by men. In a world where women are often underestimated and overlooked, they are still powerful heroes who navigate hardship with strength and resilience, unapologetically becoming themselves and breaking barriers in the face of the challenges that face them. “Someone’s Daughter” celebrates transition from naivety into wisdom, weakness into force, unwavering determination and fearlessness as our mothers, sisters, daughters and wives walk through adversity and fight for better change. These women are often forgotten but they have earned respect. They‘ve earned mine, that's for sure!" Fun fact: though such a thing is controversial in the US the Ukrainian army has a LOT of women serving in combat, medic and pilot roles. Like this one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZzVYn2sjKerebM

Big thing is there is new Jinjer and the band should be congratulated for the completion of their hard work and bringing new music to life. The beginning with Roman's guitar sounds almost exactly like As I Boil Ice. Lots of elements from the direction that As I Boil Ice and Dead Hands Feel No Pain pointed towards at the end of the Wallflowers album, with some King of Everything and Macro vibes in the riffing and guitar tone. This one doesn't hit the sweet spot for me. All of the elements from the entire band are here...Tati's cleans in particular are really fantastic....but the amalgamation of those pieces don't quite hit like Jinjer at their most magical. The flow isn't there....still feels like separate parts forced into one song. The beauty is for many listeners this song will be that kind of magic for them. Everyone feels a song differently and that's the beauty of it. I'm always excited to hear more Jinjer and eagerly await the new album and seeing them again soon on two nights at small venues. Congratulations Jinjer on the new music.
