I actually thought this scene was written very well and how each character reacted was a subtle nod to social dynamics, but also their own characteristics. Jinshi was acting aggressively like he would like to be treated (we can tell he likes being told what to do and wants a boss) and given how he grew up, truly didn't see the issue in what he was doing. Gaoshun took what Jinshi did as a joke, and it makes sense as a man with no daughters that he is thinking that Jinshi is just playing around. Gyokuyou, being a woman, understands MaoMao's unease and takes command of the situation, showing Jinshi and Gaoshun the inappropriateness of what he did.

Gaoshun's a grandfather, he just knows his adopted prince-son and the antics he'll get up to. Plus, he's also his boss, so had to cover his ass for him. Especially before I knew he was a grandfather, I saw his interference as covering for Jinshi's crudeness (he is just 19, after all, and somewhat sheltered)

Gaoshun knew exactly what was going on. But he can't stop jinshi . Cause he is the prince and his boss. And having raised jinshi he knows. If he is stopped he would Just sulk and cause further problems. Besides maomao according to him is just his plaything. Not anyone of consequence. And jinshi knew what he was doing. He just likes to push maomao since he can't seem to gether to swoon over him as everybody does and she really is fun to torture for him. Still creepy as hell. Not that I am complaining. But gyokuu did right. Jinshi can be an idiot

Bu durumun yanında Jinshi’nin bal olayıyla ilgili bir mesaj vermeye çalıştığını düşünüyorum. Çünkü zaten yaşanan olaylarda bal aherjisi ve bu alerji sonucu oluşan ölüm ön plandaydı ve jinshi bir nevi bunu çözmüş ve maomao’ya ip ucu verip onun çözmesinide görmel istemiş olabilir. Bu her ne kadar bunun için tuhaf bir yöntem olsada.

Honestly yes. As much as I like Jinshi ,this scene was NOT it. I hope it never happens again ,because it is now unmistakable that she hates it and none can say he is not aware of it now (it would truly make me unable to tolerate his character)

This ship, though canon, always makes me feel icky. Jinshi is way too comfortable stomping all over Maomao’s boundaries. The fact that Maomao can’t outright refuse anything because of the power imbalance creates scenes like this with sooo many red flags…🚩🚩

@@DanA-10357 In episode 1 she was kidnapped and sold to work in the palace as a maidservant. In episode 19 her father saves her from being beaten to death by one guardsman. And in episode 24 when Maomao was dancing she was surprised by Jinshi and nearly fell to her death if Jinshi had not caught her. It's true she has intelligence but also needs strength. Her many skills in poison could have been useful in defense and offense. Maybe she should have trained herself in her craft then she never would have been kidnapped in the first place. But now Maomao is doing well and all is calm. Until the next season which will be surprising.

I was just saying that MaoMao can take care of herself when it comes to her relationship with Jinshi and you completely misunderstood all of my comments. The examples you listed have nothing to do with my comment and make it clear that you have some serious comprehension issues. She can 100% take care of herself when dealing with Jinshi’s antics and that’s a hard fact, and that was the point of my initial comment, which you completely missed.
