Yeah… For me it was that abject terror on Jinx’ face in the dark. That tiny flame illuminating only her panic, that she’d jinxed it and gotten her sister killed, and that broken dam of relief when she could see. That fearful disbelief that things could turn out alright… But I think it worked. In that moment I think Vi finally recognised Jinx as her sister, and to have Vi alive, Vander calmed and the acceptance of her sister is such a string of impossible good things that Jinx has trouble accepting what she’s seeing for a moment.

The entire sequence down in the mine is by far my favorite part of the entire series. Makes thinking about everything that has happened, specifically act 1 of the first season, all the more painful.

It’s a coin toss between Episodes 5 and 7 for me. One an impossible hope. The other an impossible dream. But the way they both loop back into the tragedy of the first season is just so good.

There’s something about the leap of faith these two took to make this happen that was so beautiful. Jinx risked her life on reconnecting with Vi, that despite everything that’s happened, everything they’ve done and just how impossible this whole thing sounds… that she could reach her sister, to make some amends for her first terrible mistake. Vi took the leap of faith twice in the same moment. That to stop using her fists (doesn’t solve problems, it just makes more) and trying to reach Vander would work… and that Jinx wasn’t lying or delusional, that the feral beast right in front of them really is their father.
