It depends where you are, and how much money U have. I have a few friends who went back home. One is living in Havendale and another, Queen Hills. They are living good. Of course, they have good security at their homes. Crime is all over. You just have to be careful. If I didn't have a family, I would definitely return to JA. I live in South Africa, and one has to be careful, too. So just live your life, and keep looking over your shoulders.

@islandsun8235 I hear you, I'm in Jamaica 3 months out of the year and that for the past 8 years, I'm in a comfortable gated community in St-James...however hearing about crimes left and right, things happening in surrounding communities or of a friend of a friend etc. to a point where it's almost normal or expected,, just doesn't feel like a place I would want to completely retire, I've been to too many caribbean islands at this point where I feel comfortable and safe walking anywhere at anytime.

@@blackchyna3000 I clearly understood. I visit at least twice a year, for two weeks. I stay in Mandeville, where I'm from, and Kingston. I honestly feel safer in Kingston, than I do in Mandeville. I still would retire there, if my husband was willing to move from South Africa, but he is not leaving his country, so I just keep going back and forth.

Dominica utilities especially electricity are extremely expensive. Highest in Caribbean. Food price gouging is ridiculous. I live here , a single person , not as cheap as you say !
