What a love letter to Gili Air ❤ We very much enjoy all your films but this was a special one to watch as we visited Gili Air just a few short weeks after you did! And we did our open water course there as well, but SSI instead of PADI, at Manta Dive. It was spectacular and you put into words exactly how we were feeling - diving underwater opened up an entirely new world for us. And it made us realize even more how important it is to protect the world's oceans and the incredible wildlife that call them home 🐢 So cool you were able to go on a science dive Tania! And Adam, we feel for you. I (Sara) got a double ear infection right after completing my open water course so slightly better timing but it still sucked. We hope you're fully recovered now! Cheers from Uluwatu ☀

That was absolutely stunning, the filming of your time on Gili was brilliant. You certainly made the most of your extended stay and missing out on Japan meant enjoying the magical underwater world that surrounded the island. Well done both for mastering the diving and Tania for taking such a keen interest in the scientific and conservation side of sea life. Just a shame poor Adam couldn’t join in with the last dive. Commendable too to help with the rubbish collection. Although you only post videos every so often, I’d rather that, have great quality and no click bait headlines, so many use to get views, plus, as you mentioned, you don’t want the stress of having to get lots of videos out. You might refer to the loss on the Japan trip as the price you had to pay to have such a wonderful experience on the Gili Islands, on getting your PADI, and on finding a new passion. A fair price to pay perhaps? Karma can be annoyingly expensive at times, but rewarding too. Wonderful photography and editing, which has become the norm with your videos. I've come to expect a thoughtful and intelligent story with your videos, without the usual vacuous clickbait predictability of "we weren't expecting THIS...." that you find on other channels. Amazing guys and youre so brave…..i would have constantly been looking out for sharks! Too many dodgy films in my youth 😂 I’m a firm believer that things happen for a reason and if you’d gone to Japan you wouldn’t have seen those fabulous turtles. Beautifully filmed, goes without saying

Aww thank you so much, Sue!! There is always a silver lining somewhere and we were incredibly lucky that for us it was turtle shaped 😂 🐢😱💕🤪 Thank for being here!! Xx Tania

It looks an amazing place! I was lucky enough to do my Divemaster course in Puerto Gallera, Phillipines in 2001. I had nearly two months living on a beach and "working " at the dive shop. Great memories that will stay with me forever. 🙂

Hi Andy, that sounds great! What a great memory!! We’re currently making plans to go back to the island for Tania to take her masters! Very excited for a couple of months on the island! 🏝️ ☀️

I knew this would happen so just a quick pronunciation correction. It's pronounce Gili Ay-eer. Air means water.

Thank you! Unfortunately my Irish accent gets the better of me and I find it hard to get the pronunciation right ☹️

You asked for a comment about diving. Whether your snorkeling or diving. Stay away from the triggerfish when their nesting! They are very aggressive and will bite the shit out of you. It happened to me, but I was lucky and able to stop it with my fins. I immediately got out of the water.

Hi Dennis! I actually saw one when I finally came back to do my 3rd day of diving once my ear was better. They threatened to attack my instructor!! Thankfully they just swam up to her and didn’t do anything, but they are very scary indeed! Well done for fighting your one off! That must have given you a fright! 🐠 Adam
