I skipped the text when i saw MMA, then i watched the video and saw that those skills are too much for an MMA fighter, i read it again and i feel that we understand each other, martial arts are for protecting and killing, they should have never been turned into sport, because it makes us people who love violence, and it's not about that,
@fgsf99 жыл бұрын
I agree with what u said but I just wanted to point out that people even masters on some line or another always wants to test there self ..,..it does show they need more deciplen but at the end of the day we are all human .....Mma garbage

So how many martial artist do you know that have killed someone.
@darthclone79 жыл бұрын
Sport/game of certain combat applications is in the heart of preperation for war. Like war games that are used in military exercises you would be a fool not to see that these sport simulations give better insight on what can work and what can't as oppose to a demonstration.
@henryb68219 жыл бұрын
The rules are limitations, the martial artist concept is just another limitation. If someone can fight, does that makes him a martial artist? I dont see the martial art as an sport, I see it as what it is, some martial arts ar tools for hurting, some others are tools for protecting the ones you love and inner growing.
@darthclone79 жыл бұрын
Henry Bernal so when you guys practice do you use lethal force like they do in mma? Or do you guys limit the speed used and not even exert force and practice soft practices instead?

Forget about the rest, the flipoff at the end was the cherry on top of the cake! One of the best martial arts videos I've come across thusfar. Now all we need is some To Shin Do artist and have the 3 of them sparr together!

One of the defining characteristics of aikido is that you should never attack first. Aikido has no attack moves, it's against it's principles. This video doesn't show anything.

I also studied aikido and it is important to understand its meaning before saying it is not good compared to other martial arts, because it is not practicing aikido 2 years you can learn to fight against another practitioner of another art, I am currently 1 dan and it is only now that I see that aikido is efficase.

The jiu jitsu guy executed a very fluid and clean kote gashi. He appeared to be the superior technician of his art. But, what I liked about this vid was the exhibition of sportsmanship and friendly respect the two gentlemen had for each other. Even to the finger at the end - they were doing what we should do at the dojo. Train hard, and have fun.

Is not about getting the forms to appear correct. It's about fluency with formalized movement. The forms are like a vocabulary. Beginners (even several years experience) can only express themselves in the equivalent of crude grunts and screeches. The ability to fight comes from oyo henka waza, which is like playing a jazz solo on someone else's body, who has tried to hurt you. Fifteen years is not always enough.

The mere fact that you spend your time learning to use your body as a weapon, to embrace the culture and historical lessons of ancient and modern warriors, to devote countless hours of sweat, pain and strain is your living expression of the art. The expressing of one's self occurs with the choice to experience the frustration and joy of learning to slip a jab. The warrior's way is full of pain, challenge and disappointment, the one who perservers through that is the artist of their own life.

I fight and compete in TKD - at 51 too. I'm not as fast as the kids, and have to compensate by trying to be clever and set things up better. The daily training has me in great shape. My last physical I had about 4.8% body fat, BP was 110/70, blood work was good and I feel great. There are real side benefits to training (although my knees are warning me the day will come when I have to give it up).

Nice. Very good, responsive ukemi on both parts. Funny how they all look pretty much the same at speed. It is all about ma-ai, kuzushi, and flow. Nice flying jujishime. Nice malicia on the throw out of the hadaka shime. I'm going to steal that. Be a good lesson for my dojomates. Loved the commentary at the end. Much like the way I like to train, too.
