The molds are really cool. My hippie friends and I used to make beeswax candles to sell at folk festivals and natural health shows in the late 70s and 80s. These molds would have made it so much easier. Going to look for these in Canada. I have a big box of paraffin candles that melted in the sun while moving. Thanks for this 👍❤⚔🔥🐴

Awesome job. Getting some for sure. Mom always has coffee cans full of candle ends that she keeps. This will be a perfect way to use them up. Already have plenty of little pie tins of wax and wood saw dust shavings made as campfire starting chunks. Thank you my friend! Love and blessings from Ontario Canada!

Excellent! You can make a common wax and make a beautiful candle. In the thumbnail of this video the one on the left is exactly that. Burns great! Love and blessings from Arizona

Hmmm beeswax candles 😀 I love to make things like that for gifting 🎁 I usually buy the sheets of beeswax snd just roll them around a wick...but seeing as I was gifted a pail of fresh beeswax a couple of years ago I see another crafting day coming up soon...nice idea with the taper candle molding...will have to hunt for some of those :)

This is a great video! Thank you. Question: I melted a store bought very inexpensive pre-made candle (highly unlikely it was beeswax) and used this tapered mold. I ran into some problems releasing the candle once I thought it was solid. The wax adhered to the sides making it a mess. Is there something I can coat the inside with to release the candle with more ease? Did I not let the candle sit long enough? Thank you again.

This is a great questio. theres a spray that you can buy that is Helpful for the release of candles. I don't use it. I've noticed that different types of wax really differently. If I have a really soft wax sometimes it's a little more difficult to release. One of the biggest things that has helped me get good release is making sure that the candle has had plenty of time to set. Sometimes I'll put the candle in the refrigerator not the freezer. The candle will cool down and sometimes as a result it helps with the release. I hope this information helps you. Thank you for the very kind words and support that you get my channel. Blessings

This is a great video and gave me confidence to make my own. One problem, I can’t get them out of the molds, any other ideas to release? In the future should I spray in mold release spray?

@@TheTeeDay they burn great! Beeswax alone is better in my opinion, but adding tallow stretches it out and makes it a little softer

What temperature do you want it before you turn the heat off/ how cool should it be when you pour the wax?

I use beeswax with the same mold and keep finding that there is a little dent toward the tip of the taper and can't figure out why. Have you ever experienced this?
@jiujitsu2000
@jiujitsu2000 Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. I don't use any thermometers or anything. I just make sure that the wax isn't smoking and then I give it a few minutes to cool before I pour. Not very scientific or calculated at all. I've never had any issues in my candles always burned very well.

@@user-cm9wh6ot2r That's not from pushing on them to get them out of the mold is it?

@@jiujitsu2000 I don't think so, because I can notice it a little through the mold before pushing them out (within the first hour of them hardening). I've played around with different wax temperatures, keeping the mold room temperature and also warming it up beforehand, and different pouring methods. I didn't have this problem before but now I can't get rid of it haha currently at a loss

JIUJITSU2000 Videos have continued to help me after several years. I wanted to make some long skinny beeswax sticks with very fine graphite immersed in them throughout, I use them for lubricating my other brass and aluminum molds in places. I wasn't sure how to get the wax out of these tapered long poly/plastic candlemolds.
