Anurag Kashyap the director who is one of the best in India right now is actually a fan of SRK and thinks that SRK is underutilized actually has said that he wants to do at least 1 film with SRK before he retires. Tighmanshu Dhulia another great contemporary director in his interview actually said that as per him the only main stream Megastar capable of doing a world class role is SRK. Please don't compare SRK with people like Ranveer (Ranveer is a very good actor) because had SRK been given scripts in 90s that Ranveer gets now he would have given memorable performances. Naseeruddin Shah once said that SRK had the potential to be the next Amitabh Bacchan or the next Naseeruddin and he chose to be Amitabh referring to the fact that just like Big B he had great talent but just as young Big B chose to be a star rather than exploring the brilliance of his talent SRK did the same. If you really want to know him as an actor watch his earlier short films which very few people have seen.

Most of SRK's popular movies from that time aren't actually good movies that you guys would enjoy watching...but he has some really good movies which didn't work out commercially as people didn't want him to experiment much..he was typecast as the romance king, & whenever he tried to do something new, the audience rejected him There are popular SRK movies, there are good SRK movies, & then there are great SRK movies Sadly the popularity & box-office numbers of his films are usually inversely proportional to what the movie has to offer, barring a few exceptions

Yes today Rick was absolutely right about SRK being loved by us so much. Yes it's an emotion. I am die hard fan of him. Many people are like me. And we know he is not the best at acting, sometime even feel cheesy and we love other actors too and are stunned by their acting ability too. But in whatever case, if someone asks me who is your fav actor, there is never other answer, not ever considered except SRK. Now if some asks why? I usually can't answer that becoz it's not just about his movies, acting, I feel connected to him as a person, many out there also might be. it's like you don't blindly love everything about him but you can't even stop liking him just like a beloved family person. Even if you find a fault at some point, he has plenty positive traits that overpowers his negative ones and they do same for me.
