I HAD THE GREAT PLEASURE OF WITNESSING JJ JACKSON SITTING AT THE PIANO IN THE LIVING ROOM OF HIS APARTMENT (in Reseda California) ALONG WITH MY FRIEND KEVIN (who took me there and introduced me to him) ; WHILE HE PLAYED AND PERFORMED " BUT IT'S ALRIGHT " FOR THE 2 OF US. FROM THAT MEETING, WE BECAME VERY GOOD FRIENDS . HE WAS GENUINE , SOFT SPOKEN AND VERY HUMBLE . RIP MY AWESOME BROTHER .

@@oprin10 Another friend whom was introduced to me by JJ informed me that He ( JJ ) had passed away about 2 years ago. I relocated from Calif several year ago. I guess I just took his word to be factual knowledge. I hope he is still with us . Going to check with some other people that knows him. He was always so full of love. Thanks for this contact. God Bless. First met JJ in his own Apartment.

Yep, this joint was the jam by October, 67. It was so popular that I connected with a beautiful girl named Monica Rivers. She was seated in a sort of corner of the basement at Barbara Atwell's bday party. I had just finished dancing to "It's Alright" and immediately afterward I spotted Monica Rivers and I was like "wow - who is that"? Monica Rivers I was told. She was 2 years older than me but I didn't care cause I was always looking at older girls. One year later her mom was my 5th grade teacher: Willie B. Rivers. Turned out I would be one of Mrs. Rivers' favorite students too and it's where I first heard the phrase "teacher's pet." Sweet Memories.

As noted above, on this day in 1966 {November 30th} J.J. Jackson performed "But It's Alright" on the Dick Clark produced ABC-TV weekday-afternoon program, 'Where The Action Is'... At the time the song was at #27 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, the following week it would peak at #22 {for 1 week} and it spent thirteen weeks on the Top 100... It reached #4 on Billboard's Top Selling R&B Singles chart... Three years later in 1969 "But It's Alright" re-entered the Top 100, that time around it would peak at #45 and stayed on the Top 100 for ten weeks... Besides "But It's Alright", he had one other Top 100 record, "I Dig Girls", it would reach #83 on the chart in 1967... J.J. Jackson, born Jerome Louis Jackson, will celebrate his 77th birthday come next April 8th {2018}...
