Sens fan here. After we drafted Stü, I was screaming at my TV for Pierre Dorion to draft Peterka. Then we took Greig. Today I’m glad we took Greig. But…. Peterka was STILL available when the Sens picked early in the second round. I like Järventie as much as the next guy, but I was pounding on my coffee table for Dorion to take Peterka. 😭

I'm looking at JJ and Quinn and Levi and as a lifelong Sabres fan... Adams should be the GM of the year here really soon. He is building primarily through the draft (though Levi was a trade.. but now a really good trade for both parties..) and they are looking like they will be a force next year. I know down the stretch, many teams probably didn't want to play them this year. Next year is looking to be great!

You should do a video on the strange win-win trades that the Sabres have made. O'Reilly-Thompson, Rienhart-Levi, Eichel-Tuch; all three of these trades were franchise-defining deals that somehow ended up working out for both teams in massive ways and shaping NHL history in the process. For example the historic Stanly Cup Finals this year were a direct result of the Rienhart and Eichel Trades.

JJ is my boy, watched him live last year on Amerks, If coach plays more than 12 minutes a game should at least get 60-80 points…he was outstanding in AHL last year and this year on Sabres playing so very little. Peterka was amazing in AHL playoffs last year, Quinn was brutal, both will be great players if given the chance to play more than coaches Son Greenway.

allow me to disagree because although Peterka had 29 shots, Gautier had 57 shots. Mr Peterka handled very few faceoffs some of those wins some of those were losses, but very few. Go look at Buffalo's lineup and see which of their regular faceoff artists have better then 50%. Carlsson of the 2 top prospects handled more f/offs then Fantilli and when taken off of F/off duties versus Ehler's team, suddenly scores 2 goals. Carlsson had a job to handled f/offs and did a reasonable job as junior on top line vs professional players. Fantilli takes a distant 2nd by being allowed to score points. your 21 y.o. barely handled f/offs and to my knowledge Buffs needs serious f/off artist not scorer, they already have them. What a chance to prove yourself and you didn't do it.

Your comments make no sense. 1.) Peterka played on a German team whose depth was shallow. Gauthier played on a stacked US team. Peterka was picked 34th in his draft, Gauthier 5th in his. You are comparing apples and oranges. 2.) What do Carlsson and Fantilli have to do with Peterka ? 3.) Players get better at faceoffs as they get older.

For your information, jj points Performance, wasn't the best in german history. Back in the days, wenn germany was splitt up in west and east. There were a few germans on the west germany team, who had more than 9 points and erich kühnhackl set the all-time record of 15 points. Still jj was amazing and had one of the best performance of all time, but not the best.
