Former athletes have gained a platform and will begin to replace these analysts. Having someone talk with first hand knowledge of the game is much more enjoyable than these reporters and analysts who have 2nd or 3rd hand info and have never made a game time decision under pressure . JJ can explain what it’s like to take a high pressure shot or defensive pressure and communicate it. Same with Shannon Sharpe, Ryan Clark, and Dan Orlovsky

8:51 i kinda gonna agree on this take. Pointing out the effort and involvement of other team mates for the last shot. Most of the time Steph needs a play set up or use multiple screens for open look/mismatch. Meanwhile… Give it to Luka > let the Luka Magic work > later, announcers shouting BANG or LUKA DID IT AGAIN
@MrHardnut333
@MrHardnut333 2 жыл бұрын
If curry gets an inch from halfcourt onwards though it’s goodnight. Most of the time with Steph it doesn’t even come down to the last shot because a 2 point lead turns into a 20 point one in the third from one hot streak
@RedShogun13
@RedShogun13 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Steph is the greatest shooter of all time but he is the most lethal weapon a *system*. A winning system at that. Someone like Luka when push comes to shove IS the system.
@shubanobi2206
@shubanobi2206 2 жыл бұрын
Didnt expect to see an apostle of soda here. I actually agree that Luka is hard carry over Steph, but i think this aged quite poorly after the finals regardless esp after game 4 lol. Steph hella clutch but Luka more clutch, under most conditions both of them are easily clutch enough (at this point) to save their team. Game 4 Celtics vs Warriors where Curry put his team on his back or Game 6 or the absolute bus that was defending him all series long. Luka cannot be stopped under any circumstance and is definitely more clutch, just can’t really say current steph doesn’t pull through like mad
@Nandoswitharando
@Nandoswitharando 2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t really make sense to the argument tho, how does the way they get the shot affect who you’re taking? Regardless of whether it’s off dribble or off a screen, don’t you want the best shot? Kinda lost me there, Luka isn’t a better clutch shooter just because he can get his own shot, so can curry lmao

I agree. Love JJ but Stephen A turned out to be right. (Can't believe I just typed that). But in fairness JJ was merely saying it's too early and back then it was. So I'll let him off the hook for that a bit. But the Warriors were great to watch and glad they won. But back to JJ, he is fire on this network.

7:30 - actually, if Kyrie showed up in a '60s finals game, he would be in the game for all of 6 plays because he would get whistled for carrying every time he dribbled. Also, Wilt was 7'1" with a 7'8" wingspan; Joel is 7'0" with a 7'5" wingspan. Wilt was also a high jump and track champion, and was able to play 48.5 minutes per game in a much faster pace than today's league. I get that Mad Dog is probably too invested in the old school greats, but JJ doesn't give them nearly enough credit.
@eciohc75

Kyrie is smart enough to adapt to the rules and still be himself in 60s. JJ's point is not about whos better. It was about how irrelevent to compare players from 60s to todays player due to the big gap in skills between two eras. Bob and Wilt will attain lots of skills if they growing up today. And JJ will agree on this as well
