I was misdiagnosed with Graves disease and was at the point of thyroid removal and a lifetime of maintenance medication. Found an article by 2 MDs at the Texas Heart Institute entitled Misdiagnosis of Graves Disease Due to Aspartame Poisoning. I started reading labels and removed aspartame from my diet (it's in everything "diet") and symptoms completely disappeared within 60 days.

I had Graves' Disease when I was 21. It was my first of many autoimmune diseases. I was misdiagnosed and by the time I took the very successful radioactive iodine I had already done damage to my heart and kidneys. If you think you have it, get tested. I just take my hormone pill every day now.

I have Graves I was given 2 rounds of rai. Since the second round my other, previously managed, medical conditions have gone haywire. Another thing is my doctors are worried I've gone from one end of the spectrum to the other. How bad is this if I've gone low thyroid from previous hyperthyroidism?

I am the same, had Graves but had so much energy when my levels (according to my doc) were wrong. After RAI and thyroxin levels were ‘right’ I’ve suffered from being under active. I have zero energy and could sleep round the clock. Been like this for years but doc won’t adjust meds.

I have grave disease and doc says levels are highest he has ever seen. He wants to do surgery, but has allowed me to try medication first. Heard medication is iffy if thyroid levels are too high. My Thyroid update scan concluded 95 percent. Anyone have results that high??

@@rishabhdhakad2062 The medication has been working and actually working to well as my level plummeted so had to gradually reduce. Doc said for now no surgery needed. Been hitting the gym and put on more muscle mass and weight. Been maintaining it. So we’ll see how long this medication can work.

@@rishabhdhakad2062 yes got bad in December but went down and starting seeing eye specialist who is monitoring and took ct scan to see type of damage to back of eye. There was no significant damage. So took the medication right on time. Began to be dealt noticeable in November of 2021. Started meds December and bulging went down in Jan. Still have slight bulging. Didn’t completely go down, but substantially less than before.
