Great Explanation ... My mother passed away in 2018 due to MEN 1. Here in Pakistan, It was detected very late, for almost 10 years, doctors treated her for hyperthyroidism, diabetes, weakness, anemia, glaucoma, bone weakness but could not understand the underlying reason. Poor countries infested with quackers.

My family where the first in the U.K. to be discovered for this & the professor that found it wich is now famous worldwide for it is called prof.thekker ! I slipped through the crack but just recently got in touch with my blood uncle (dads brother) who I’ve never met before but he is helping me get the diagnosis and right treatment ! This genetic condition is extremely rare and funnily enough so are my family there’s not a lot of us over the world ! Our surname is “Glass” ! Fingers crossed I get to live out a long healthy life from now because a lot of my family die In There 30/40/50’s ! I know I’m gonna live long I will not accept it ! Peace and love to all 💛

60% of pituitary adenomas in MEN1 are micro not macro. Therefore it's more common to have microadenomas which are difficult to detect and often get overlooked.

I inherited this from my late mother. I recently had parathyroid surgery to attempt to rectify it

My dad passed away from Complications of Zollinger-Ellison. His primary neuroendocrine tumor was a carcinoid that became metastic. I was diagnosed with a prolactinoma in my 20’s. When I couldn’t get pregnant, my obgyn tested me and I did indeed have a prolactinoma. I took bromocriptine. My prolactinoma has not reoccurred. My sister has a parathyroid adenoma. I try not to worry but I think I have men1. My endocrinologist does the surveillance labs annually and I cross my fingers.

@@neerajgajwani690 But she has MEN 1 (it is also not sure) and not MEN2. MEN1 is not associated with medul. thyroid cancer.

I think we have this. ALL sisters had type 2 diabetes as well as hyperparathyroid issues. We ALL just found out in the last month. Our dad died of an inoperable brain tumor when he was early 30's. Now, my 29 year old daughter is having symptoms. God help us.

@@anusree8905 I have been diagnosed with the condition. My dad has it aswell as my grandad and my dad's sister. So far I have been okay and haven't had any hyperactivity. Although my vit D levels are coming low. If they continue to dip that it will trigger the hyperactivity and cause tumours. So far however ... I am okay. I think it impacts females earlier than males. My diagnosis was not too much of an issue because I had a family history of it but its basically a referral from your GP.

I have this stoopid freaking disease. As I get older, the symptoms become more and more unmanageable. It is difficult to find a DR that knows about the disease and all of the symptoms and issues. I feel like the last 20 years I have been telling Dr's about my problems and they don't believe me and think I'm crazy.
