This was a great distance test! You got better distance probably because you went to 120 m which is higher (20 to 40m) than others when you pushed it out. At 5GHz there is a lot less interference than in 2.4 GHz over populated areas... and it was really out of city environment. Great video!Thank you very much. Just ordered another version of the X12 which is the Eachine EX4. Apparently the original drone is C-Fly Faith!

Chad, do you have to set to channel 149 each time you power up the drone? On another of your videos, the poster stated that the channel info shows up in the menu under firmware version. I don't see this, do you? Also, have you been able to get the map functions to work?
@ChadB5 жыл бұрын
I do not have to change the channel each time. Channel 149 is the default here in the US. The info is in the settings menu under firmware. Although I think you need to be connected to the aircraft to see what channel you're on. Yes...You can get the map to function. Before you connect to the aircraft you have to cache the map. You have to do this when you either have cellular service or connected to wifi. Go into the app and open the map of the area you want to flight. Then zoom in and out to where you can see the street names and roads. Then scroll around. When you connect to the aircraft the map will be saved. However, the aircraft doesn't stay centered on the map view window like other apps. I can put out a video on how to do this.

@ChadB5 жыл бұрын
It usually stops recording when signal is lost. When it stops, it doesn't save the footage. Luckily the drone's onboard DVR records in 3 minute increments so the footage right before signal lost was saved. However, during this test, it stopped rocording the first time the signal was lost and continued to record the second time.

+1 Chad B. - Nice video. I'm considering this drone (identical Eachine version actually). The drone's 1080p video quality looks a little soft in the few videos I've watched today. Is that KZbin compression or could it be the drone's 1080p camera is not so great? Thanks and Cheers from Thailand! 👍😁👍
@ChadB5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jimbo. The video wasn't compressed by me. Maybe when I uploaded it to KZbin. The 1080p is not that great anyway It's only 8Mbs. However, if you're considering purchasing the Eachine please use my Banggood Affiliate link. Your Support is appreciated. usa.banggood.com/custlink/m33G62JDS1 Just remember, if you already have in you cart, delete it and then open the link. Thanks
@Jimbo-in-Thailand5 жыл бұрын
@@ChadB Thanks for the quick reply. 👍 Yeah, 8Mbs is pretty low. I've been looking for a decent 3-axis-stabilized-gimbal drone for quite a while in this price range. Like many other buyers, I suffered with a crappy 720P camera marketed as a '1080p' camera on my long-retired Hubsan H501S (among other problems with it) so whatever I buy has gotta have a decent camera. I was drawn to this model because it claims to have a 4K camera... but as you know, only shoots 1080P video. 🙄🙄🙄 For the price, if its 1080P was sharp I'd go for it. Anyway, if you have any suggestions for a better drone in this price range (other than Hubsan) please chime in. Thanks again! 😊
@ChadB5 жыл бұрын
Yeah...the 3 axis gimbal and the price is what attracted me to the X12. I wanted a drone with a decent camera with some sort of stabilization; either mechanical or electronic or both. The x12 is a nice drone for beginners and it is fun to fly, but it is very basic. The range capability is nice also. I'm a beginner and I've had this drone for almost a month and I've already upgraded to the Fimi X8 SE. It arrives on Friday so stay tuned for my review. The Fimi A3 is a good drone at a nice price. It has video at 1080p/30fps/60Mbs, but has a 2 axis gimbal. However, footage I've seen from the A3 looks very stable. Use this link if you consider purchasing this one: www.banggood.com/custlink/KDKD6Mpg4q Use Discount Code: BGA311 (CN Warehouse) to get the price down to around $225 USD
@Jimbo-in-Thailand5 жыл бұрын
@@ChadB Thanks again for the tip. I originally was going to buy the Fimi A3. In fact, I bought a spare battery (still new in the box) in anticipation of ordering the A3 early this year. But then the incredible X8SE came out and it appears to be phenomenal. Sadly, it's still extremely expensive here in Thailand (currently ~$600 USD) and importing and flying larger drones can be a nightmare here since Thailand is still controlled by a super-paranoid mostly-military government. Yeah, my choice is still the X8SE as I don't want a drone company telling me where I can fly (DJI hint hint). Gotta admit though, with the changing drone rules favoring small drones, the new Mavic Mini looks great, if only we could decouple it from communist DJI headquarters.

@@scotteakins6048 Cool...I'm glad I could help. Charging time for a fully discharged battery for me is approximately 5 hours. Yes, recording does stop when it disconnects. 6 months ago it may have been worth it. But, now I'm not so sure. It won't even work for me. Your better off spending $150 more for the Mavic Mini kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5SQq6aGabmWqKM

most of the reviews i've seen about this drone seems discrediting esp in terms of its fpv quality but after seeing this review i was appeased...this drone ain't that bad at all ..

Why it is beeping?
@ChadB5 жыл бұрын
It's the automatic Return to Home feature. No way to stop the beeping unless I cancel the RTH.

Eachine EX4 - JJRC X12 - C-Fly Faith I fought with this drone for 2 to 3 days determined to find the trick to calibrating it and I was ready to give up then I tried this and it WORKED for me over and over again so listen up and try this. 1: First Press the button on the back of the drone to turn it on. you now have a BLUE flashing light on the drone this is telling you it is trying to connect to the controller so turn the controller on and when it is connected the light on the drone will turn GREEN and it will be flashing NOW connect the phone to your controller. now on the phone, it should say in preparation, but your NOT ready to do the calibration yet, what until the light on the drone goes GREEN and is NOT flashing now on your phone, it should say READY-GO BUT It's NOT READY. NOW it's ready for the calibration because you have enough satellite lights only when the light goes green and not flashing. The lights on the controller are ONLY telling you what mode you're controller is in and NOT that you are connected to anything some people thought that. NOW this is what I MUST DO to get the dam thing to calibrate, the horizontal works fine every time BUT I could NOT get the vertical to work it would say it was a success but it was NOT. the drone was still in calibration mode. On the drone, it has a RED/GREEN light flashing which is vertical calibration mode. SO what to do? well, this works for me 7 out 10 times instead of never working at all. When you do the calibrate first off some apps say calibrating in blue on the phone when you see that it ISN'T tap the blue calibrating Button again until you see it say TURN THE DRONE the light on the drone will start flashing from green to red/blue I have seen some people try to calibrate it when it was NOT ready to do so. NOW when it says turn the drone horizontally do it about 3 times the light on the drone turn to RED/GREEN the horizontal calibration is dun and NOW the trick that works about 7 out of 10 times for me WHEN it tells you to put the camera up and turn it watch your phone and PUT the camera DOWN give it a quick half-turn then do it again if you don't see your phone then tell you to turn it again do another half turn but if you do see on your phone turn it again flip the Drone camera up words and then turn it two or three times the light on the drone should go green and not be flashing. This almost works every time for me and it's the ONLY way I can get it to calibrate. And It's JUNK

Add a Wi-Fi repeater to that and you will probably get even longer range. I would like to see that on video

You think this is a good drone.?
@ChadB4 жыл бұрын
Its ok. This was my one and only drone when this video was published. I've upgraded and sold this one since then. But this is good for a beginner just coming into the hobby like I was at the time.

That beeping put me off this drone for life and that is definitely not 1080 p, don't like the way colour balance changes with brightness
@ChadB5 жыл бұрын
+craig me yeah the beeping can be annoying. But the beeping doesn't stop unless you cancel the RTH. Same is true with many of the drones out there. Also you're right, the camera isn't the greatest, but it is a nice little budget beginner drone. 👍

Chad B. How can I buy this I can’t find it It should be called the Hoffa
@ChadB5 жыл бұрын
@@mickswagger6086 lol...I bought mine from Geekbuying.com. However, I have provided my affiliate link in the description for the Eachine version (EX4). It is the exact same drone, but just rebranded and cost about $40 less like the JJRC is a rebrand of the CFLY Faith.

hello pretty video I bought an eachine ex4 drone and I am disappointed the camera and not good and stabilization on 3 axes that the company jjrc manufactured and badly made the video and a little jerky while watching the film when you rotate with the drone, there is distortion in the picture and it has the jello effect for a camera stabilized on 3 axes say that and lie I am very disappointed I will resell it jjrc should have solved this problem I sent an email to jjrc and they didn't respond they lose interest in their customers I'm boycotting their products now and i will tell my group on facebook here is my opinion too bad it could have been a good drone with firmware corection
