Big Warriors fan here. I remember Steph when he had a meet and greet in Hayward, CA. This is when he was known for his "glass ankles" and I also had rolled my ankle severely at the time. When I met him, he noticed my boot for my ankle and he smiled and said, "Oh man, I know all about ankle stuff, trust me." We both laughed hella hard and he proceeded to ask me how I was doing. No, he didn't blame it on injuries because people are not free to express their truth. You can only say what the establishment wants you to say if you want to keep securing the bag and avoid drawing the ire of irrational people who only care about things they like. I understand why Steph did not dwell on why they failed to win the chip in 2016 and just moved on with his life, but real basketball fans know that injuries had a big part to do with the failure, and he took it on the chin like a man. I remember when the Cavaliers lost in 2015 due to injuries, LeBron blamed everybody and their daddy. Absolute horrible sportsmanship.

THANK YOU JJ - This is such a treat. Steph is a massive inspiration (insert meme) to me personally. Found the NBA at a dark place in my life where I was just trying to find something to cling onto, something to be motivated & inspired by to keep going. And Steph quickly became my favourite & inspiration. Maybe because he's the same height as me so I can try and imagine how he does what he does at my height. Maybe because he's the GREATEST SHOOTER THAT HAS EVER LIVED & changed basketball forever. But man the way he goes about things, on the court, off the court, listening to interviews & getting to listen to how his mind works & in some of the biggest moments in NBA history - it's truly inspiring to me personally. It keeps me going. It keeps me wanting to do more. To be more. To be great. And that's all I need. Cheers again JJ, I love your questions & banter between all the players & this might be your best yet. And "if you don't like that, you don't like NBA basketball!"

Curry is without question a top ten player. I think what sets him apart (besides him being the best shooter of all time) is his easy going and joyful attitude towards life and the game. I feel like his presence calms every down and takes a lot of pressure off his teammates. Would love to hangout with this man

Steph is the reason I started watching NBA again after a 15 year hiatus. Rank him wherever you want but for impact on the game, Steph is hands down, number 1.
@Romanus- Жыл бұрын
Same here. Stopped watching after college and then saw some Steph highlights on ESPN one day in 2015 and started watching again. I couldn’t believe the shots he was making. It was like he wasn’t human lol

What’s inspirational how he can read some of the most hateful nonsense people say and write out of basically pure evil and not be shook by it. That’s next level mentality

Steph is like Leo Messi, just the way he sees the game and can create outside of getting his own shot. Steve Kerr was right to model the team after Barca, changed basketball forever.
@Romanus- Жыл бұрын
I don’t watch football, in what way did Kerr model the warriors after Barca? Just curious what the similarities are
@KaonashiJP Жыл бұрын
@@Romanus- Mainly in the cutting and the constant movement of the players, movement of the ball, and screens. Messi and Curry, respectively, play the 10, able to create and shoot relatively from anywhere. You have a cerebral passer in Draymond (Xavi) and then a shooter in Klay(Iniesta). Very similar to Barca, mixed in with that system and you get the best out of your players.

Glad you talked about Steph's leadership style - it seems to me the most undervalued element of his greatness.

I feel like it’s certain people like JJ and Dray who can get the REAL answers out of Steph. Not that he’s not willing to tell them but the correct questions and the vibe has to be authentic and can’t be fishing for click bait! Love these podcasts!!

One of the best Steph Curry interview/conversations ever. This one of the best if not the best basketball podcast jj and the other dude ask good questions and get into good conversations. Chef Curry a legend.

Curry talking about that 2017 game 1 that was like the first game I ever watched and it was dope. Also when the ball hits the back of the net Im so glad that we agree Im always trying to explain that to people

Steph is one of one, the way he approach life on and off the court can not be taught or cultivate. It’s no surprise he is still riding the peak of his power at the age of 34. Never take him for granted.
