I think being insulted for not losing your virginity more of a Western thing... most of my guy friends are actually virgins and it’s pretty much a point of pride for them. My country as well as most of the countries I’ve been to usually prefer it if both young men and women, keep their virginity until marriage. being aware of the spy cam issue definitely shakes you up as a woman living in korea. i was suddenly aware of all the holes in the bathroom stalls and the wads of tissue paper/gum/stickers plugging those holes. my advice for men and women is to opt for restrooms in shopping or cafe facilities instead of the ones at train stations (especially hongdae). thanks for the updates and sharing important happenings! don't worry too much about korean tourism plummeting. this shit is more important to discuss than sugar coating things.

Not sure if this will help, but if I went there I would get changed in the dark and shower with really dim lighting (maybe just a dim night light), also wear tight undershirt and shorts under clothes for dressing rooms so when you undress you still have clothes on. I hope this helps.

So I have 2 experiences sort of... My ex is from the middle east so I got the "random" security check every time whenever I flew. There was a shoot out directly in front of my apartment while I was gone. When I came home the police were trying to find bullet holes in the wall of my apartment and in the ground area. So I'd say Korea and the U.S. are about even.

We all know spycam porn happens in the US too it’s just not covered by the media bc they’re too busy covering the shady, megalomaniac “President.” Pro tip: if you visit US drink bottled water to avoid lead poisoning and bring an inhaler bc you’ll prob end up w/ asthma. 😜👍

Maybe the digital stuff became normalized to a certain extent. Not the secret stuff but the exchanging of pics and videos between couples.

It is still safe as in you wont probably get robbed or attacked but even in relatively safe countries there are people who will take advantage of that fact so you should be careful wherever you go tbh
