I just want Big Hit to continue telling us the BTS universe story (not the game, I mean the genuine story running through BTS's music career). I think that is one of the factors that makes Big Hit company unique because there's narrative they are holding with BTS and they're doing the same with TXT. If they can invest more on that, I'll be happy.

The game is actually in a way part of that story line too, but it is a different universe or earth. Its similar too Marvel and DC comics in creating a universe with parallel universes too tell the stories they can't tell in the main universe. But instead of revolving the stories around superheros they revolve around BTS. In a way i think the true 'main story' is BTS real life not the fictional one.

I actually think that it's the right time for bh to take such a big step. For sure it can be a double edge sword for growing too fast, but rn it's a clever move while yg and other labels have image problems. Bh has in opposition good image and gp grows more on them, also new talents will want to try out auditions first at bh before anywhere else, so to find raw diamonds is now easier for bh. And I'm sure that they already have a lot of creative projects planned for the future. You should also consider how popular TXT became in such a short time (not only because of bts) and they also have nice contents like the MV of nap of the star. And I think Bh also have good connections now to producers + other artists in the music industry (foreign & national). And for the game, I personally like it a lot. I'm esp. happy to see bts act and the photos are also nice and for weverse, I guess it needs more time and some work to get better but the concept or idea is not bad. What I like about bh is that they try new and creative things although it's risky. If they would only exploit when they could make it easier by concentrating 80% on ads and the rest on music but that's not the case.

@@zamahsays7888 you have to consider that they are also doing events no other label does like armypedia etc. And if you think about how farsighted they plan for events and also albums and music you have to admit that they need time. And they can't just hire a lot of people at once, there need to be a process like background checks, learning phase, trust etc...so they can't grow in number of employees overnight. And I'm sure that they are also doing things now for the time when the guys are enlisting. Think about the survey they did at armypedia event and the members also said that jin had so much work at year beginning ( there's a reason for sure, I mean the song Allnight was produced a year ago when lucid dream wasn't even out). I'm not saying that everthing is wonderful, there sure are things they need to work on and they should begin with the translation problems, but out of all the other labels out there I think bh is really doing an amazing job. That's why I believe that they will be able to survive and become big even if bts is taking a longer break. That's why they need to take a big step now.

Even though it was BH which gave birth to BTS, we should remember that at one point, BH faced a terrible financial difficulty that it had to let go most of its artists. But 2 artists willing to stay and faced the difficulty together and they were Lee Hyun (a solo singer) and BTS. Bang PD even wrote a letter (during Bon Voyage season 1) thanking BTS for willing to stay by his side and continue to believe in him. To me, BTS is BH and vice-versa hence up till now, BH is still not a public listed company. I got the feeling, BTS owns a substantial share of BH.

imagine if they'd debuted under a company like yg, pledis, cube etc. They never would have as much creative control that bighit gives them. Jin could've debuted in exo, and JK could've debuted in Got7, Seventeen, Btob, Monsta X, Sf9 or Bap. Only bighit, jyp, rainbow bridge and until recently, fantagio are companies that have largely positive images. If bts were to debut under ANY other company, they would not be as successful as they are today. Sure, they are extremely talented, but a good business model is needed to boost that talent's worldwide recognition. They have also remained a private company. They were afraid that if they gain a lot of shareholders, it would negatively impact the creative freedom of the artists. Who does that??? Give up money for their artist's freedom? And also, the cheeky tone Jin uses while talking about bighit. It means that they're on good terms. He wouldn't dare speak like that if it were another company. Even the most outspoken idols like Kim Heechul would hesitate before dissing Han Semin or Lee Sooman. BTS also brought Bighit to where they are today, and I'm sure that they remember that every single day. It seems like they have a largely positive, symbiotic relationship. If bts were to all terminate their contracts with bighit and join another company, they would have the life milked out of them, and they would be run down with overwork. For heaven's sake, bighit were willing to let bts disband in early 2018 if the members felt the pressure too much. Imagine the loss bighit would've consequently gotten. That shows how much they care about their artists. Remember the Wanna One vlive scandal? They had 20 hour schedules. That would be bts if they weren't under bighit

it's neither one, because it's a symbiosis of both of them !! None of them can flourish/exist without the other one. BTS may have never existed from the beginning if BigHit dind't find them and put them together in one room (literaly), and BigHit wouldn't have expanded this much without BTS.

I really like the BTS World game! I admit the storyline is a bit cringey at times, but in general the game is really enjoyable. I'm still playing it, and I know majority of my ARMY friends are still playing the game as well. The weverse app needs some work though, it keeps crashing and buffering because it can't handle all of the traffic.

I feel the exact same way about BTS World! Besides, you only get rewarded in the game when you choose the non romance answers so i think they're actually hinting at something lmao. I think weverse will sort itself out in due time. They just need to make some changes and do some updates and it'll probably solve itself!

That being said, I sincerely dislike the side stories a lot. The player is essentially stalking the boys everywhere and trying to get close to them which is really creepy. I wish they would have gone in a different route with that gameplay

I really like how y’all compared bh to apple... I see it the same way. I think because bh has grown so quickly they seem overwhelmed and I honestly don’t think they mean to release bad things. Most lgbt+ army who don’t see bts in a romantic way don’t really like bts world bcs of the subtle romance they tried to sneak in there. A lot of us just wanted to be their managers and help them debut not a potential love interest. Mistranslations have caused awkward encounters and problems pronoun wise. Had Netmarble been a bit more careful with the translations i doubt it would have been that badly. The weverse app honestly feels really rushed bcs international army have been begging for a better means of communication with bts since the Fancafe they had set up before was really hard to get into if you didn’t speak Korean. Because there was so much demand I feel like it was rushed and you sorta have to keep in mind that bh is dealing with something no one else has done before. It’s like parents all on their own trying to raise their first born with no one to help them, there’s no 100% proven guide book or video on how to make sure your baby succeeds in life. The same can be said about the content they’re coming out with. Bh is trying but it’s just not really working out. They underestimate themselves and rush it in order to appease fans. I have faith with a few updates and feedback they’ll get it right the second time (just like how parents find it easier to raise their second and third borns after the first child’s trial and error). But they really do need help bcs they’re not managing something small anymore and they can’t afford to keep coming out with “bad” products :’) I’m looking forward to their growth nonetheless 👀 Edit: some things I said came off wrong so I wanted to clear it up by re-writing certain things. I’m not bashing bh or bts so chill. If you like the romance in bts world great I’m happy for you but there are people in the fandom who believe it or not don’t find bts attractive in a romantic way. To some of us bts are like the boys next door we grew up with or someone in our family like a sibling or simply just a friend. In the English translation, because it wasn’t all that well done, made certain parts in the game really awkward and creepy. Netmarble has since then begun to change the wording and listen more to army’s complaints/recommendations which show they and BH are listening and willing to change things. From what I hear WeVerse is also trying to quickly fix the problems within the app bcs they really underestimated themselves. That was especially proven when bts were posting a lot on the app and it kept crashing or just not loading bcs there were too many people trying to see what they had uploaded.

As army that worked in branding and advertising, it's so fascinating of how much bts and bighit is a brand anomaly. The emotional grip that they have established in a massive following is something I have not seen at all. I do agree with Danny, BTS and BigHit's brand image is synonymous to consistency and quality content. They should be very very careful because not all members of the army are susceptible to blind following. But I guess that's what the new building is for. To hire people that can keep and improve that image. :)

I agree with Danny that BigHit has to be careful because the risk is way too high. About Weverse, as a brazilian army, we always feel left out because we don't have fancafe to communicate with the group as does korean army. With Weverse, we feel closer to them. Though the app has some bugs and need some improvements, Weverse is something really revolutionary for us, the international fanbase, and we're loving it. About BTS World, I think is a game made for armys, not for someone who is getting to know them now or someone who just likes their music. The game storyline has specifics aspects that armys love. It's kind of a fanfiction 😂😂😂 That's my point of view. Love ya ducks 🦆

Honestly I don't think BTS World is TOO bad. The biggest fear I had for it when it was announced was that it would be this HUGE glorified dating sim that sort of disconnects you with the members as actual people. (Which as an ARMY is a big no-no imo.) Luckily, although there are some cringey moments and y/n options here and there, it looks like the app is just trying to retell their success story in a more wholesome light. Also from what I've seen most of the 'flirty' options actually give you less 'points' than the actual manager related ones, which I was very glad to find out. The game is very lighthearted and casual just like it's tag in the appstore states. The Weverse app is sort of wonky atm though, whether it be because of how lack luster and paper thin it feels, or simply because it can't handle the incoming daily traffic. Honestly I feel like the Weverse app could be a lot better if they just flesh out what they already have. Maybe adding a whole different 'fandom' section that has a sort of community system. Possibly like a much more refined Amino where people have profiles and can make threads about BTS and other things. Of course it would need stricter regulations on the content uploaded there but honestly from the amount of spam I see on the app already I don't think that'd be a bad thing in the slightest. While I personally can't comment much on the conglomerate side of the spectrum, I think Bighit's trying to be as sincere as possible. They may not really know what they're doing with some stuff, but I really do think they TRY to put heart into what they make. The BTS World OST album proved that for me at least.

I completely agree with your point of view : BTS World is indeed, as RM and Suga said, a “documentary”. Though there are some cringy options and dialogues, overall those are not the ones giving points and it never goes “too far”. The gameplay is quite easy to grasp and addictive. I also agree for Weverse : The app really can’t handle all the traffic, and it’s so poorly organized... Even the threshold to report posts is so low (see the latest controversy about Korean posts) so it’s basically a mess. Also, mixing Armys from various social media (Twitter, Instagram, Fb, Amino) really showcases the disparities and how delusional/uninformed some can be...

I heard that the new creative director for bighit isn't going to be directly under bighit but under a subsidiary company?? Which is going to debut the new girl group. Sort of like how the black label is separate from yg but still linked too it?? Either way I'm excited for what's going to happen to bighit with the future. Seeing how bts members especially some of them is going to the military soon (brb crying my eyeballs off) it cant be helped that bh is quite stressed and maybe that affected how they did things for the past few months. They tried to do everything they can to sustain themselves as a company. I just hope that the changes doesnt affect the boys too badly. Setbacks are normal and human, whats important is that they keep trying to improve, to avoid a big downfall or smth, by actually listening to the feedbacks that they receive. My twocents about Bighit. Years ago when I first discovered bts, the members (esp how they had a clear message that they wish to convey through their music, which is kind of rare across the industry then when most groups only sing what they are given) were 1/3 the reason why I started to stan, another 1/3 was that i happened to have free time and energy for a new group (my bias enlisted LOL), but the deciding last 1/3 was the company. I really liked how they put emphasis on production, the whole plot that slowly unravelled from HYYH (but started so long back), the details they tie into year end special stages that are spoilers and hints to the next comeback. I had been a long kpop fan, got bored of seeing too many groups, but BTS had came off as very different, both from individual member wise but especially the production side. I haven't been following BTS for 2 years, so I don't know if that's still the case. I've heard that they're making a movie. I read their webtoon (because I got curious one night thinking about the unsolved mysteries left from HYYH era when I was a fan... used to spend nights trying to piece together hints haha), it was pretty good. Not sure about the We-verse thing, never heard of it until today, but I've heard of the BTS World (mainly because it was everywhere at Seoul subway stations) and out of curiosity I downloaded it to play. It borders on cringey fanfic content, blending fiction and fact into the main story line. It's strange how they jump the timeline sometimes (like it was chapter 2 or sth pre-debut and Yoongi or Namjoon was reciting to me lyrics from Whalien 52 which was a track from HYYH p2, released in their 3rd year after debut?), and honestly I feel like it's strange how it's a fan who time-travelled back but chose to make some decisions that later proved to be problematic? Like honestly if I time-travelled back and became their manager I'm not ever gonna let Jimin do that ab flash in NMD. I can see how this game is engaging for newer fans (and younger age-group) who missed out the front part of the journey, and I like how the members recorded so much content for the game (videos, audios, poster cards), but I guess it isn't my cup of tea HAHA. I've heard my fair share of their debut story and their pre-debut adventures and the game wasn't the kind of summary I expected it to be. And as some others mentioned, there's an element of flirting involved in the game, which I'm not a huge fan of because this is a mangement game and I prefer it to be professional, but clearly I see how this works for their targetted consumer base. Honestly I think Bighit is basing too much off BTS and the way their business nearly 100% depends on one group reminds me of how YG was basically dependent on Big Bang. From what I recall, BTS should start enlisting by next year, and each member will be gone for 1.5 years according to adjusted laws (lucky for younger fans! i waited 2 years for mine LOL). That leaves Bighit about one year to reap profits from marketing BTS as a team, and so far their only other non-BTS venture was TXT (not sure how they're faring as rookies, but certainly not making a shit ton of money for the company yet). This model is quite different from how traditionally the more successful companies cope (the big3 had pushed out new groups at 2-3 year intervals from the success of their first group since founding, and slowly ventured into other fields like drama/movie filming production, variety show production etc), and maybe that's why it's hard for them to make decisions without having a success story to refer to. I do feel like the new building is too much, if the industry giant CJ Ent (whom even the big3 stand no chance against) is using a similar or smaller building, I don't see why Bighit needs it. They're reminding of Lee Sangmin in a sense? I remember some of his experience shared on Knowing Bros, how his success (as an idol turned producer) made him vain and ended up making ignorant investment decisions that led to his bankruptcy. I hope Bang PD is not overwhelmed by money and overlooking basic appraisal from his audit. Bighit actually currently the only company that has a profit greater than the amount they actually spend. So i think they are very careful when it comes to money. I guess once you've tasted being poor/ bankrupt you dont wanna go back to that situation again. So you become a thrifty when it comes to money. Bts are the same. bighit plans on opening sub companies which will be situated in that building. They are expanding their business. Bighit is known for planing few years into the future so I wouldn't be too worried. They burned themselves once and learned from it. Bts world is netmarbele's and the game is fiction inspired by real events. It has to have ups and downs bc otherwise it would have been boring. I love alternative universe stories a lot and do agree that flirting should not be a part of the game. Sometimes the games makes me choose from 2 options, even though i don't agree with neither of those, but since they incorporated live acting it's understandable why they couldn't have given us more freedom.

So far they have beNx (web company) beOrigin (publisher company) beLift (bighit x cj enm) what if they want put all of them in one space area, also they growing a trainees that why they need a more space. I agree with what Danny said about bighit. They have really grown exponentially big ever since BTS rose to stardom so it is worrying to see that they planning to move to a whole single building just for themselves like what if it doesn't work out in the end they gonna go bust :( However I don't think they are doing this by leveraging on BTS loyal fans solely although that is a big factor in assuring their success in the future. They know they have the potential to be the revolutionary trendsetter for all the other small music labels, it's just that it's not easy being the first. They are struggling with the execution, sure, but props to them for trying. I think bighit do listen to fan's demands i.e. platform for international fans to communicate with their artists through weverse, and netmarble (and by association bighit) changed the English translation in the BTS World game after many ppl complaints about the gender pronoun being used, etc. Bighit doesn't strike me as a lazy company (welp many armys might disagree but) and Bang PD is a smart businessman so I think they know what they're doing... let's hope for the best lmao

I totally agree with you. I think it isn't that they suck at the execution. I think that it's because our population as fans in general is very diverse. Even if one idea is appealing to one sector, the other sectors would disagree. It's hard to come into conclusion as to what makes the entire population buy a service or product. If they are able to figure out a way to do that with BTS and ARMY, it'll surely be a start of something new. As for now, I see their movements as experimentation from what they have gathered through a survey last year.

**WARNING, LONG COMENT AHEAD** I'm hopeful for big hit and their ambitions but worried as well. An aspect you guys didn't mention or maybe didn't consider is BTS's military service. They are leaving soon so bug hit is probably moving extremely quickly to try and build them selves up enough to stay as successful even without BTS which is encouraging. I love all the content we get but its ridiculous in the first place that BTS is their only Big name. (Sorry Lee Hyun but it had to be said) when they obviously have an eye for talent. 1- Like you said, big hit is incredibly faithful (?) and dependent on ARMY and their loyalty to all bts related content and it looks like Txt's Fanbase is heading in the same direction since Alot of them are army as well. So i think they have room to experiment while they still have BTS active but it is a major double edged sword because people aren't stupid. like you said if the product sucks (Personally don't mind the game, hate the Y/N aspects of it but rlly like the other parts, And I don't rlly like the Weverse app since it feels like a knock of twitter). 2- They're growing too fast and haven't had time to stabilize. moving into the new building was ill advised at best considering they only have 2 (soon to be 3) groups. And once again with BTs getting ready to go to the military or even rest for longer than 0.5 days at a time its foolish to make such big moves with only one product in the line up. and As much as i love and trust the boys bighit needs to realize that unlike something like toilet paper or even a phone humans are the most risky business to invest in. 3- I agree that big his is changing the game with BTS run and their VLIVE activities. I can see them becoming a major conglomerate company with their own streaming site and variety shows and dramas but a problem that they will have is if they do it too soon. Right now they only Really have ARMY as an audience base and we are extremely wary towards BTS being used. If they launch anything now and advertise it as a BTS product it will backfire a lot when/if they add in other groups. I hope they stick With the BIG HIT label for everything. Like can you imagine the back fire if they added TXT to the Bts world game? I like TXT (Refuse to stan until they are legal) But it would be catastrophic. 4- I am not a company stan but i do generally like Big hit because I've yet to hear anything bad about their management style. Not to say that its great but a lot the negative parts of it is because of how small of a scale they have had to operate, sometimes that small mind set really shows in the management IMO. *hope you guys at least read this even if you don't put it in the next episode. :) I love watching this every week and I'm really proud of you guys especially Danny for how well you handled the Black face thing last week. I think the Apple/Bighit analogy is really accurate. The biggest glaring difference is that BTS has a built in expiration date (whether military service or just the members aging, BTS aren't going to remain at this peak forever). Eventually Bighit will have to begin reconsidering quality (I would argue that BTS's music and members are still very quality, but I mean the other products, like the apps) or they won't be able to continue surviving in the "kpop ecosystem" as the biggest predator. It's a silver lining at least. Right now, I do hope the company continues successfully, but I do want quality as well. If they pull both off during the next few years, I think it's even likely they take YG's spot in the big three, considering the direction that company's going. We'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best. (wow, when I got into kpop I didn't think I'd have to be so invested in business and company politics)

bighit is super rich, and if they really purchasing that building, that was a right move. they have their own property now. and for BTS, being in military does not mean they going to be inactive. the whole military things will be going on for more than 5 years for BTS. while 1 or 2 of them are in the military, the other members will still going on with their activities and produce musics. so, don't be worry about that

S J to be really honest. Txt reminds of a bunch of other groups I don’t really care for. In terms of concept and music they’re not really unique. Meanwhile I don’t think any group out there sounds like bts, that’s just my opinion. I was also kinda disappointed they don’t have a diverse rapline like bts. I obviously don’t expect them to be like bts but I did want them to have strong rappers. I’m kinda worried about big hit’s future if they will only rely on txt. It’s not that I’m a Company stan. So actually I quite like the Bts game. I don't know if has sth to do with the translation (as I'm playing it in german) but it really doesn't seem overly fanfiction-ish to me. I had maybe 3 moments in dialogues that made me think this is a tiny bit to romantic but that only if u really look for it. I actually think its rather cool to get an inside view of the life of a newly debuting group (even if it may be not totally accurate) and see the stuff they had to worry about, that we often don't even know about. Its also fun finding like little "easter eggs" in the form of text conversations that they posted on twitter reappearing in the app. The card system is cool too. This maybe is not a game I will play for a super long period of time but saying it is really bad is just unfair as they are people who genuinely enjoy it. Also the OST is great lul

tbh the game i highly disagree with the bts world game... it is really well made and it might not be for a target group but it runs smoothly and they recently fixed a lot of bugs. however weverse definitely needs improvement esp with their notifications, tagging and etc but im not surprised since it was just launched a month ago. I also agree with BH putting too much on BTS. a company cannot survive with one group alone that is a fact. but I don't see why bh expanding to different sectors is a bad thing. they originally had to go around tv programs and other traditional mediums by doing yt videos and uploading other things for free. from a company standpoint its just the logical next step. quality control is needed since bh is expanding so quickly but to say its completely sht imo is just too early.

@Silvia ARMY I agree with this. Bighit need to realise that army is for BTS. Our loyalty is with the boys. Heartbeat was made in 2017 so I do know bighit has a vault of bts content. The rules for enlistment allow groups to release stuff made before enlistment whilst they are enlisted. If that’s the case bts can make albums before enlisting and bighit can release it whilst bts is doing their military service. You better believe we armys will support our boys. We are there for them. And I also think the reason why bighit are doing all those projects, is so that bts can go army together. So they are trying to find ways to sustain themselves until the boys return

Why, they were probably very proud to be chosen to represent their country at a diplomatic event, at a summit. Knowing anything about history you will understand Korean-American relations are rocky, keeping them positive is extremely important. This isn’t about personal politics, this is about exo proudly representing their country at a diplomatic event.

No matter what you think of the BTS world game you gotta admire the effort they put into making it. Not just from the development side of things (coming up with multiple storylines, calls, texts and a social feed with the members, creating the card system and all the gems/ rewards etc. you can collect), but also think how many hours, days, weeks even the boys spent in photoshoots/ videoshoots/ recording sessions for all the app content. Quite impressive imo and for what its worth I quite like the game, sure there's a few cringey moments but the game itself is pretty fun and kinda addictive.

I agree about the game and the weverse app, however I also think that no app or app game is perfect from the beginning. Both of these have been available to army for less than a month, so I am just waiting to see how/if they improve over the following month to fix glitches as so on. They have already started fixing a couple things in weverse, so I am kind of optimistic. I personally haven't started playing the game because I know how much time it will take from my day, and because I want to wait and see how they deal with all the initial glitches. BigHit IS growing too fast, and I hope that they can steady themselves before bts go into the military, or else I think they'll be screwed.

The game already fix many problems...they even changed the pronouns cause so many people was pissed at the use of "she", they now made it gender neutral... tbh, the gaming is a bit slow, but the content in the game...it's clear a lot of effort went in to it, and while it is a bit cringey, the little video snippets... wow. The boys can act 😂 they are actually really beautiful and have the feel of a kdrama...

Trying to many things at one time. If military enlistment wasn't a factor, then maybe. But it will change BTS and popularity. Don't waste time and money on weverse, horrible app, hire some to translate every tweet to be in korean and english (and not depend on army to do it for them). Steaming platform...no. there are so many already. And you would need to hire someone to work on ads, people don't want to go to different platforms to listen to songs. The game is eh...I'm guess there are players who care about the story and ones who just want to win/get cards. Looks like it was photography/video and well planned. But it's kinda boring. Curious how many spend money to level up and continue playing...that's where games make $$ (or ads).

Rushing to be bigger before the universe has time to make things ready will only end in disappointment and the need to clean things up. I'm not sure if this move to a 26-floor CHQ is PD Bang's idea, or if he was bullied by some BigHit executives. And that move to hire an SM executive doesn't make sense; it's like they're mixing Coke and Pepsi. The resulting cola has 2 great formulas in it, but it tastes vile with them together.
