I watched an interview w other soldiers and they talked about how there was a safety procedure where on entering the base they had to deactivate their phones so they couldn’t go live( I think) and to sign form saying they did it…got in trouble if they lied. Not sure it was at all bases but may have been a procedure added to prevent videoing of others in shower or just accidental videoing of sensitive intel. Good idea anyway since they can’t use phones anytime they wanted.
