I remember years ago you took JK to a park. JK was socializing with 2 boys. Jk thought a father was angry with one of the boys, & JK didn't want the father scolding his son and Jk stuck up for the boy. JK has always seemed to love children. Open-mouths in macaques generally doesn't indicate happiness. Usually, it's a warning to back-off, IIRC. But maybe JK is play-fighting with the boys? I don't really know macaque body-language, and it's pretty complex to begin with.
