Love this my two favorite youtube teachers working together. Love how humble everyone is here. This is how art is made, with true collaboration.

Ran my mouth on Jeff Chans channel about not seeing much jkd during the sparring match recently Id like to apologize for my ignorance I now see the modern take on your jeet kune do implementing modern boxing and kickboxing into your regiment took me too long to see. I respect the grind love to see more thank you for your contribution to the art. ✌️

Thanks will be dropping more content. KZbin martial arts is mostly marketing it seems. We’ll just post tutorials and sparring till people see real JKD

Big fan of Jeff. Love the video. It would be awesome to show like three best traps in your jkd arsenal in a live sparring situation.

Very few JKD guys do sparring. Very few JKD guys go out and spar OTHER fighters. I like you guys. My lineage does both sparring each other, other JKD guys, and other martial artists, and sometimes I scratch my head and wonder why other JKD guys don't spar like we do too. Anyways, I give you guys props for "fighting as is" because that's what Bruce Lee always encouraged. Lots of JKD guys stuck practicing only tech and not actually applying and pressure testing.

@@NYMartialArtsAcademy Hello NY JKD, quick question. What is your opinion on Ted Wong + Teri Tom previously talking a lot of shit about Hand Immobilization Attack? With all due respect, it could be just their interpretation that Bruce Lee had completely removed it, that's why Teri Tom in her "Straight Lead" book trashed the HIA parts of JKD. She even went onto say that in ETD with BL vs Ohara (Bob Wall), that that was not Wing Chun, it was just boxing, when clearly it was a Pak Da. In any case, Ted Wong taught her that stuff. Ted Wong learned JKD in 1967, so he "missed out" on any of the years where there was lots of HIA trapping. I personally think they just misunderstood it since Ted Wong admitted he didn't see much HIA when spending time with BL. BL was teaching a more kickboxing form of JKD from 1967 and forward. If you look at the Taky Kimura and James Yimm Lee lineage, there's lots of trapping. I believe the Taky Kimura lineage still does some forms and chi sau, whereas the Original Oakland JKD made them more simple but effective, and less chi sau. Dan Inosanto and Ted Wong weren't around for the years where there was lots of HIA tech. Anyways, I find value in all of it. But I think some JKD guys really overemphasize "the straight lead" and think it's the end all be all.

We don’t speak on what other people do because honestly any JKD person we knew sparred. Maybe other didn’t but here at Nymaa.com we move twice a week.

I really like these videos with Jeff Chan (and all of your other videos as well). Does the four corners work well against overhand punches?
